Could Brady to Tampa Bay be a good thing?

While watching the Tiger King, I was surprised at how many Floridians have big cats.

Tom might like that. He might become a collector. Bobcats, leopards, tigers...

Some people think Tampa has a bad defense despite putting up historic rush defense stats and being top 20 in pass defense. They’re in for a surprise

And that was with them defending 189 possessions all year (tied with Panthers for #1 with league avg being 173)....or 11.81 drives per game.

The Pats D had 186 defensive possessions last year because of an anemic offense.....

The problem with these chats about... wAAaaa. ...he didn't get extensions... is that brady always responded with chip on his shoulder.

First.. garoppolo drafted. Brady wins superbowl.

Next.. delategate.. superbowl..

Then no extension superbowl.

So why when offered incentives this time it's no good. When hes 43. The reason is he wants more money and Change of scenery. Done deal. Moving on, best of luck..

It’s pretty obvious it wasn’t about overall money, it was about getting 2 years guaranteed.

Brady was pissed, and rightfully so, that after all the money he’s made for Kraft and Belichick, after everything he gave the franchise, they would only go year to year.

He deserved the multi year deal before this year.

The new playoff format takes effect in 2021...so there are still two BYEs per conference.

Like @Coolade said....not many cold weather games, much better offensive weapons, and a coach who is gonna let Brady sling the ball...I like the Bucs' chances.

Winston's interceptions really killed the Bucs last year...if Winston threw *only* 15 INT's...they were a play-off team, IMO. And Brady has never ever thrown more than 14 in a season....
The new playoff format will start with the upcoming season (whenever that is)

They certainly don't. Their front 7 is solid with Suh, Vea, Barrett, White and David. The secondary has a lot of unknown guys but their CBs are pretty decent from what I've been reading. Jamel Dean and Carlton Davis are up & coming.

Whether Barrett's monster year last year was an outlier or he can put up at least 10-12 sacks again is one notable question mark. He came out of nowhere. No way he gets 19.5 sacks again.

If Barrett is still elite (12+ sack guy) there defense will be top 10. They have a top 5-8 front 7 and with White getting better there linebackers could be elite. Where there weakness is is the secondary, although in the second half the two corners played really well

Exactly they’ll get more rest and better starting field position cause of Brady, that in itself improves the defense alone.

in the NFC I only see NO and SF as teams that will cause trouble for them in the playoffs but Brady should feast on SF zone defense

And this is exactly why Brady, provided he stays healthy, will have them in the playoffs... deep.

I know it's tough because of what's happening in the world today. But I would've liked BB, Kraft, and Brady to have one final press conference. They could've said what they wanted to. And took questions. Hugged. Parted ways.

Guess that's just wishful thinking on my part though.

I keep thinking about how badly Brady played in Miami over the years. If it was the heat, he now has 8 Miami(yes, I know he is in Tampa)games/year. He seemed to lose to some bad teams and quarterbacks. If things continue, it won't matter because there may not be a season anyway.

What an insane show lmao

Except at the TB price, it destroys the cap space and takes on risk at his age. The formula was always team oriented but not this year. Brady understood the market price could be higher and he went for it. So it really is the right move for Brady, even if some fans are miffed about it.

Football is team sport... The W-L in Miami is mostly because the team was bad at adjustment to the heat. That weather is a home field advantage like Denver at altitude. The home team is adjusted to it..

Only issues with Tampa I have are 1) Mike Evans is not the kind of receiver a QB like Brady has success with in winning titles and 2) Bruce Arians - will he screw it up?

I think I understand why he left. No need to rehash it. We had to start over at some point, so I'll merely wish him well and hope Bill dumps Cam and any number of other weak sisters, then gets truly started on the rebuild.

I’m fine with it. I’d mostly hate to see tb wasted here while we rebuild. He went somewhere that he can put up good numbers again which may allow him to top brees and hopefully compete for a ring if the bucs iron out their issues. We weren’t winning anything important this year with or without tb so we may as well clear the cap space and start trying out the next options.

Yep. I feel the same way.

How many old threads do you intend on necroing?

Heh. It's more a matter of inattention than of intention. You'd be amazed at the range of things to which I pay no mind whatever and at the odd grab-bag of stuff I obsess over. My wife begins about half her sentences with, "Don't you realize..." Typically, I do not.

Closed. If we could stop bringing back old threads...that would be great.
