What is ridiculous is for him to get up there and spew lies and misinformation in the middle of a national crisis, then have his own experts get up to contradict him in public. It happened yesterday with the miracle drug and the day before with the FDA guy.

He appointed Pence to lead the task force. Pence is doing a good job, let him do his job. Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx are both well respected experts. The President isn't adding anything to these hearings but distractions. Maybe that's what he wants. If so, that's just shameful.

Fauci was not saying Plaquenil did not work or that there was no evidence it did. In fact there are several small group experiences reported that it does. He was saying there was no formal indication backed up by a large study. The drug is being used right now in this country off-label in many places - almost certainly in Boston, and for sure in New York. We do not have time to wait for a formal trial. If Fauci got the virus, I’ll bet he gets it (or the other new antiviral out there).

There are many drugs out there which are promising but need further testing.
