Brady gone

A lot of the talk now isn’t all that different from what was said in the winter and spring of 2002 about another Patriots franchise QB. I trust Bill. He’s earned that.

Actually BB hasn’t earned that. Get your facts straight. Let him accomplish ANYTHING as HC without Brady and THEN he’d have earned that. At the moment we’re going on blond faith and not performance. I bet BB’s shtick falls flat without the talisman that was Brady. BB’s comeuppance is on its way. Brady will likely smash it in TB. Fck BB and Fck Kraft.

Why is Kraft still talking? Be quiet you old fool. Stop trying to make it seem like you and BB were welcoming Brady back with open arms. That you guys are some sort of victims in this.

11-5 with Cassel.

3-1 with a raw JG and Jacoby Brissett.

Not to mention 2 rings won as a DC. Bill has a track record without Brady. Not the case vice versa.

Oh, suddenly we're ignoring the losing record with Bledsoe? The 0-2 record in '01 before Brady stepped in? OK, lol.

For someone who is done with this and doesn’t care, @ViperGTS sure spends a heck of a lot of time posting about how much he cares.

It's also disingenuous because the league was different back then. Atleast during cassels year.

The reality is this team as constituted does not have the talent to win even 8 games.

That's bill fault.

I could forgive this approach if I saw him shedding salary and making sure we were in a great spot in 2 seasons but no, he throws money at McCourty who isnt gonna make a difference and thuney who's fine but considering our offensive issues last year, that's alot of money for one spot.

I know bill wont tank. But he really needed to clear the board entirely and not half ass the rebuild.

That is a heck of a selective argument. You picked a sample size of 20 games when there’s almost 120 games that Belichick has coached without Brady. I wonder why...

Me and about 30 friends got together last night for a social get together I set up at my place to reminisce about Brady's career and to watch several of his best games. The 30 of us watched in a crowded room which provided a very cozy atmosphere. Lots of hugs and high fives as we remembered TB12.

A little bit off topic, but the weird thing was that at the beginning I was the only one with a random cough. However, by the end of the large gathering, about 20 others left with a cough and fever. Weird.

Anyways, it was a great night.

The question was what Bill has accomplished without Brady and I answered it. That’s not including taking a Browns team devoid of talent and turning them into a team on the verge of contending for a SB before their owner killed the franchise.

What has Brady done without Bill? Guess we’ll find out soon.

I don’t think the Colts were intentionally trying to tank.
You have *got* to be kidding. The suck-for-Luck campaign was on in full force. They went 0-13, and only started winning once they had the top pick locked up, actually winning 2 of the final 3.

There’s been some bad posts on here but this one is a hall of fame sh*t post.

And I give a crap about a Brady jock sniffer like you why again?

Well you are wasting your time posting about how much I really care so guess mission accomplished.

Holy **** what a horrible idea

Then afterwards, they could write a book titled "How To Destroy Your Franchise In 1 Easy Step"

The Colts fired Bill Polian, their GM Polian’s son, and their head coach coach after that debacle. A bunch of players on their roster were shown the door. So what did they really gain from tanking except being unemployed? That’s why teams don’t do that.

It's also disingenuous because the league was different back then.

Let's compare it to adjacent years:

2000 - Bledsoe - no playoffs
2001 - Brady - superbowl berth

2007 - Brady - superbowl berth
2008 - Cassel - no playoffs
2009 - Brady - playoffs

I can't figure out how a 5-11 team could win 9 more games to win the Superbowl the VERY NEXT year. And then I just can't figure out how a nearly undefeated team won 7 fewer games to miss the playoffs the very next year too. And that non-playoff team went back to winning the division the very next year after that.

It's like one thing changed, but I just can't put my finger on what that was.

Having to go from the greatest QB of all-time to a guy who hadn't started a football game since high school might have had something to do with it. And the Pats still only missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker. He got Coach of the Year consideration in 2008 for the job he did without Brady.

Is Belichick the same coach today that he was 30 years ago in Cleveland, 20 years ago with Bledsoe, or even 12 years ago with Cassel?

I haven’t looked through the thread but have anyone seen the latest that the Pats did the usual “we tried” in their failed attempt for trading for Diggs?

Dude, where’s my dynasty?

I mean he brought up 2 rings as a coordinator like that matters, how many Coordinators sucked as coaches but would still be coaches if they lucked into a GOAT QB.
