Brady gone

You’re thinking about this year but this will take a while. Talking about a rebuilding process.

The Pats don't need a full scale rebuild. That's what people seem to be missing.

I kinda hope it IS Tampa. They have weapons & an offense first coach. Then we’ll sees hat he can do at 43 with those players and that system.

I wish him the best. He’s earned “choice”. Great player.

Tampa makes by far the most football sense if his only choices are the Bucs or the Chargers. If he picks LA it would go against everything I thought he prioritized and would basically be an admission of early retirement.

I’m really glad they have dudes like McCourty, Slater, Hightower in the fold still. I have to wonder if Edelman stays or if Tom requests that his new team acquires Jules. That team would probably have to overpay to get him but still. That would suck.

I could see Tampa snagging Dion Lewis if they get Brady

So is patsfans.com gonna die down now that Brady's gone? Since sooo many people said they're done with the NFL when Brady's gone? Or gonna wait for the other wheel (BB) to fall off before jumping off the bandwagon?

You will see who the true fans are. I’ve always had my suspicions and some may be coming true. Like the Pats, it’s gonna be a fun time. Then they will come crawling back when they have the success again. I predict by week 10.

Of course it's an exaggeration and I don't believe he sucks at all, so keep that in mind. You make a good point.

Even if he had the season he had last year it makes zero sense to pay that amount. The Patriots aren't making the decision based on the last 20 years. If they did they'd be foolish.

Hes literally only 2 years removed from mvp

If he goes to the chargers hes gonna have an mvp season.

Calling that now

So was Manning. I'm not saying Brady is Manning but Brady is 43 and he had some injuries he was dealing with last year.

I still think Brady can win a Superbowl with the right core around him but he was not going to get that here.

This is where there is division. I don't agree I think he's earned the right to play and I think he's our best option, but assuming you think he sucks, I believe he should of been able to stay and Kobe around.

I hope it’s the chargers. Better pass defense. They need to shore up the run defense but they where top 6 in total defense last season.

He’s either retiring or going wherever Brady goes IMO. He’s not playing with another quarterback

Why wouldn't Edelman play on the Pats with another QB. He's already done it with Hoyer, Garappolo, and Brissett.

I wouldn't hate a trade for Foles might take time to get used to the playbook but he's shown the stage isn't to big and his team mates loved him.

Not really comforted with Stidham taking over having no tight end, aging Edelman with virtually no other WR help, and Sony just not inspiring confidence. This offense could be really bad, and I'm struggling seeing 8 wins with the current roster.

This defense is going to have to ball even harder, and on paper (and the vets being older) it's worse than last year. Brady cured a lot of ails, and people need to prepare themselves for what's coming.[/QUOTE

The transition could be tough if you became a fan in the early 2000's. I was a fan starting around the early 80's and there were some lean years to say the least. I still can't believe how far the pats have come from being the laughing stock of the NFL to one of the best franchises in the NFL.

BB definitely has his work cut out for him in terms of rebuilding the offense and replacing key players on defense. IMO, he is the best GM/Coach in the league and will put a competitive team on the field. We also still have McDaniels who will help groom a young quaterback or help a veteran QB play beyond their potential. They may go 8-8 or make the playoffs, tough to make a prediction so early in the team building process.

Trading Edelman would free up about 4.3M before June 1 or 7M after June 1.

Edelman could fetch us some nice draft capital. I'd move him to Bradys new team.

The homers will be the first to bail out. Going on cognitive reasoning alone, they’re the most likely people to root for the team merely because they win. A few of them have gone eerily silent since this morning.
