This crisis, on the other hand, is a marathon, not a sprint. These short term "injections" will do absolutely nothing to stabilize the market, as you will see.

The Fed's quantitative easing since 2008 has played a large role in the increased volatility of the repo market, and has made it very fragile. The Fed has intervened in the repo market on several occasions, prior to this current downturn as a result of the virus. All of those asset purchases and long term refinancing moves by the Fed decreased the banks' demand for short term funding, and it's why they have had to intervene to stabilize it. The Fed was trying to fix an issue it caused, and now the virus has made the situation even worse.
