Ok. Let’s say the Pats lose Brady (horrible to think about), and decide to pick a QB in the 1st round at 23.

Jordan Love and Jacob Eason are available. Which QB would you pick ? Both are big QBs with excellent arms, 6’4” 230 & 6’6” 230 respectively.

Me personally, I’m going with Eason, despite the cringeworthy last name (you old timers know what I’m talking about). I think Eason has a stronger arm, and is a little more accurate. Also a pretty fiery guy. Whereas Love can probably create a little more on the run, though still mostly a pocket QB like Eason. Who do you pick ?

No first round QB

No first round QB
It’s a premise, you’re deciding between 2 guys IF they go QB in the 1st round. Not according to YOUR preference of position.

I guess with Love, we would be going more on his 2018 season than his 2019 season. I don’t know if I’d want to spend first round picks on either but, gun to my head, I’d probably go with Eason over Love. Took better care of the ball, was shown to be accurate on every throw, drives the ball to the boundaries more often than not, and has the pedigree. Naturally, this is dependent upon Brady’s status with the team, but after the top two go, I’m not sure I want to see the Pats spending high picks on any of the remaining QBs. Especially not with the projected draft class next season.

Is Jacob Eason Tony 'turtle' Easons son?

He is the son of Tony Eason, but a DIFFERENT football playing Tony Eason. His dad played WR for Notre Dame.

Really? Between this and Stanley Morgan, Jr. and Reggie White, Jr. all not being related to their NFL namesakes it's too confusing. At least Thaddeus Moss has the decency to be Randy's son.

Don’t forget a running back from the New England area named AJ Dillon from Boston College, whom I’d love for the Pats to take, a Lagarrette Blount type RB, is NOT Corey Dillon’s son. WTH !

IKR? Just to f* with everybody, I'd love it if everybody who isn't somebody's "Jr." or III or whatever put "Sr." after their name like Steve Smith Sr. And Ochocinco, who, if he were still playing, should put "Senor" after his name.

Neither.

Eason does have an impressive arm.

but there is a lot more to playing qb then arm strength.

Eason looks the part.

Neither. Don't bite on a 1st round QB this year and get value at other positions.

The kid from Washington state impressed me plus he has a lot of good tape.

could not agree more.

the tape shows two things about herbert:

1.) he can not come off his primary read on pass plays.
2.) against quality defenses, he becomes a turnover machine.

Drafted him in Madden. Absolute bulldozer.

In this circumstance, I would trade up for Herbert.
I'm with ya on that on brother ! I think when all is said and done, as we look back 15 years from now, would not be shocked if Herbert winds up being the best QB from the 2020 draft class. He just has it all, great arm strength, great touch, accuracy, great leader, just has it all. There is just something about him, he has the IT factor. I think he's gonna be great.

Yeah, as long as he always has a clean pocket, he should end up being a great quarterback.
