To be fair Hardman had only 6 catches over the last 7 games. This is half as many as Harry had.

If we are going to only evaluate the first-year performance of the 2019 draft class, then the Patriots, Chargers, Cowboys and Lions are the frontrunners for the bottom of the barrel. Not sure which one of those four is worst.


If we are going to evaluate the one-year return on investment of the 2019 traded draft picks then why did the author not include Danny Shelton (received in exchange for a 2019 third round pick)?

“Gave up Hardman” is an asinine take from the draft. Good for the Chiefs for picking a really fast guy whose strengths are sure to stand out as the #4/5 option in that offense. But it’s intellectually dishonest to equate trading the pick with losing out on a player they were unlikely to draft anyway, considering they had already drafted a WR.

It’s sufficient to say the early returns on the WR class really make the early returns on Harry sting even more.

dumb thread...how can you say we are the big losers of the draft at this point?

harry still could be good. he had moments where he looked pretty good, just seemed to have difficulty staying healthy and understanding the offense.

joejuan williams was a disappointment this year, but i didnt see anything to make me think he was awful.

winovich was a good player, should be a decent player for a bunch of years.

damien harris we really dont know. i am disappointed we didnt see more of him but nothing i have heard leads me to think he sucks.

we drafted 2 raw lineman, include cajuste who apparently has talent and wouldve gone higher if not for an injury.

plus jarrett stidham, who i dont think is going to be great but we have heard a lot of good things about him

i think if you want to say the 2019 draft class was disappointing in that it didnt help us in 2019, then i agree. but i dont think in terms of the long run we know if we were the losers of the draft. plus, we drafted last in every round, so we have that going against us.

Yes when you get an edge rusher in the third round that plays part time in a BB defense:

30% snaps
5.5 sacks
23 pressures
2nd highest PFF grade among rookies (Bosa)
4th most productive on a per snap basis (Bosa, Allen, Burns)

The punter is the best pick in the draft.

Also, the correct hindsight WR is AJ Brown IMO.

Once again. We suck at drafting. Our scouts stink. BB is a horrible evaluator.

We have a certain system that some players will not fit into no matter how well they played in another system (ex:Ochocinco). Also Brady, Edleman, Wilfork, Seymour, McCourty, Samuel, Vareen, White, Gronk, Light, C Jones, Hightower, Slater, Branch, Solder, Warren, Vareen, Collins, Watson, Vollmer, Mankins, Mayo etc only to mention a few turned out very good.

Some of you guys think that all the other teams hit on every draft pick but in reality they are in the same boat as us. It’s a crap shoot. 70% (fact) of your draft picks will not make the team or be a bust. But with the Patriots we have a specific system on all 3 sides of the ball which limit the specific type of player needed. Not all will work out. Some will. Some will be Stars.

BB plugs in certain types of players for certain positions and gets one or two more same type of player for depth. Plug and play. A certain type of player can be a star somewhere else but flat out stink here.

If you feel that other teams are better talent evaluators then go buy one of their jerseys. Betcha none of them won 6 SB’s, 9 SB appearances in a 20 years.

Another Fact.. It takes 6 years to truthfully Evaluate a draft pick. Some look great out of the blocks but stumble later. Some look slow out of the blocks but become solid players. Few are stars from start to finish



With all due respect some of you are spoiled little brats. This is the greatest dynasty for a sustained period of time. Enjoy it

I think it’s better to wait to really be able to analyze a draft. Of course you can see how things are trending in year one or year two, but the full picture emerges later.
