Brady is back. How do we fix the Pats?

609 rush yds 8 TDs
993 rec yds 8 TDs

1602 yards 16 TDs for the 2019 season.3rd down RB?

My point is, I don't subscribe to RB's (outside of the top 1%) being game changers. I'd rather shore up TE/OL/WR, especially if Brady is back. I think Michel/White/Burkhead/Harris are a fine depth chart if the rest of the offense improves.

What I don't like about White is that when hes in the game its usually always for passing plays.

Guys like Ekeler and Hunt are dual threat keeping the defense guessing.

Brady will be back. Not only will he return but Amari Cooper will be coming with him. Speak it into existence.

he had his chance.....he didn't help here
That's on our coaching staff. He said he didn't know what his role was here thanks to Bielema. Once he got to KC, Brendan Daly knew how to play to his strengths. Pennell made key plays for the Chiefs this postseason

And now Bielema is gone in what is essentially a lateral move (OLB coach) rather than a promotion. Sounds like BB might have recognized this.....

Yeah. Even someone like Mike Pennell would help.
Brutal mistake. Guess it didn’t make much difference ultimately because offense still stunk but damn Pennell is good.

I vote focus on the O-line first. I wonder at what point does Andrews get clearance to play (or doesn't)?

2019

Sony--- 912 rush yds 7 TDs-- 94 rec yds 0 TDs
Whitey 273 rush yds 1 TD-- 645 rec yds 5 TDs
Burk---- 302 rush yds 3 TDs- 279 rec yds 0 TDs
Bold----- 69 rush yds 3 TDs-- 111 rec yds 1 TD

RBBC -1545 rush yds 14 TDs-1129 rec yds 6 TDs
Ekeler- 609 rush yds 8 TDs-----993 rec yds 8 TDs

Ekler had 40% of NEs rush yards
57% of NE rush TDs
87% of NE rec yds
133% of NE rec TDs

Pair this guy with Whitey, Sony and Harris and the NE offense would blow up. If Sony doesnt show improvement then the whole season is not down the tubes. Harris is an unknown and could be Sony 2.0 ready to break out in the week that never comes.

If Brady did not say....
To My TEAMATES and MY FANS
I would be under the assumption that it could mean he was not going to retire and he only was telling everyone he is playing next year. Could mean playing for any team.

Once he said My TEAMATES and My FANS that to me means in NE. Those were the biggest group of people that were yearning for his decision.

He knows that using those two terms gives the impression that he is coming back to NE. If he did not use those terms then he could leave with peoples blessings. If he then decided to go to another team after what was said then he would leave here pissing off alot of people and his legacy in NE would have a huge asterisk for the way he left.

For a man who words things so carefully throughout his career. He would not be so careless if his Intention was anything but staying.

LETS GO!

He doesn't necessarily do anything for me either, but I can think of a lot of positions I'd rather throw resources at than our 3rd RB.

What are we doing here? Talking about throwing more money at Rb? I would think we give last years 3rd round pick Harris a shot to crack the rotation next year and spend our resources on Wr TE and OL but that’s just me.

some guys are dependent on scheme to be effective.......he looked like crap here......to ponder that Pennell would have made a difference here is a real big reach

don't need an RB

problem is, there's not a whole lot of excitement in this year's FA WR group

I didn't say he would have made a difference in us winning or losing but better coaching would have made him more effective. Michael Bennett basically said the same thing - that he didn't know his role here and the coaches wouldnt tell him.

I’m definitely not in the camp of backing but the brinks truck for Amari Cooper. Austin Hooper/Hunter Henry need to be the priority at TE. I would target Sanders at wr; imo a better fit than cooper and should come cheaper. I would also look at DL, good FA class and with the exception of Guy needs to be looked at with upgrades.

Oh please. The coaches told him and he didn’t like what they were telling him. Do you seriously believe that in NE of all places coaches wouldn’t tell a player what the coaches want???

Pennel is a mountain of a man DT. Did it really need to be explained here what his role was going to be? You clog the middle, stuff the run and take up blocks to free up your LBs.

As for it not working out here, it’s not that he was a bad player. Could’ve been that we had 1 DT spot on the line between he and Shelton and he was beaten out by Shelton, who himself had a much better 2019 than the year before.

Depends. Is there any cash left?
Roster holes include NG, DT, outside LB, and probably S on defense; WR, TE, OG, OC, and probably OT on offense. All of them need to be resolved to keep them from becoming massive weaknesses.
