Thank you, Joe Montana.

wait...it's a TARP!

I think Montana has been a real douche towards Brady . . . Now he wants to give him advice? smh

Montana is right. Brady will take a step down if he leaves to play for an inferior organization.

Even though it will make no difference on his overall legacy, it would be tough to see Brady go 7-9 (or worse) with another franchise.

We'd all be thinking.........why couldn't he retire never having a losing season?

Doesn’t matter. He’s still right. It’s not like Brady has 5 years to build an offense at another team. He has maybe 2-3 years tops.

For those familiar with typical FA timetables, how quickly do you think we'll know if he stays or not?

Brady is a f*cking moron if he plays somewhere else.

Well done, Joe. As per our arrangement, I will now release your family.

Or maybe, having played for both of this SB's franchises, he just wants to be even more relevant to this week's discussions. Outside of the game itself Brady's impending FA is bound to be one of the hottest topics on radio row this week.

I really truly hope that this situation is worked out.

That's fine advice but it isn't up to Brady.

I've always believed that Brady will be back. Nothing has changed.

I agreed with this even though it’s definitely up to Brady. The Patriots have put six Super Bowl winning rosters around him (seven if you count ‘07 and just chalk that up to bad luck when it comes to injury timing). That has to be a hell of a consideration. But it is definitely up to Brady. He’s a free agent.

It's no more up to Brady than it was up to Welker when they let him walk.

I would also include 2008 in that list (though I admit it takes some projection). It was largely the same roster as 07, and had Brady been playing instead of Cassel we likely go on another run. And, though the defense definitely didn't get the job done in SB 52, that team absolutely could have won that game. I wouldn't call it bad luck in the same way as 07, but it was a SB caliber roster (overall) for sure.

The only close team that I would say wasn't SB caliber was 2011, but then again, the Giants weren't exactly a powerhouse either. It seemed like no city fielded a great team that year. Everyone was flawed somewhere, and the Pats were able to squeak through until the end.

Well, yes and no. Both sides have to want it to happen. So it's up to both of them, and neither of them at the same time. Both can reject the other, but neither can force their decision (to stay) on the other.
