Elway dragged those 80s Broncos teams to 3 Super Bowls kicking and screaming.

That counts a lot in my book. You think Peyton would have done that?

I think Peyton would have done more and better. Elway couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with many of his throws. I see so much of Elway in Josh Allen it's not even funny. Super strong arm. Flings it for bombs and big gains. Runs really well and is strong as an ox. Accuracy for s***.

When Shanahan implemented chop blocking and the Broncos plugged in one undrafted RB after another back there to run unhindered, that's when Elway became a "great" QB. Last couple years of his career. Until then, he was underwhelming.

I can only speak on Staubach and Bradshaw onward, but much of my ranking is really based on how I felt rooting against some of these QBs, and the feeling of my team facing them.

This is why I rank people like Montana, Marino, and latter-half-of-career Manning more highly than people like Brees or Elway.

Favre became the all-time passing leader when he retired as an outdoors, cold weather QB, and played most of his career in an era where ESPN showed highlights of QBs getting speared called JACKED UP. His iron man start streak record probably never gets broken in spite of the rules changing to protect QBs.

Just rolling up bigger numbers as a dome/warm weather QB in the 2000+ era does not compare to what Favre did, sorry. Favre also has the MVPs and 1st Team All-Pros that Brees doesn't.

I didn't pick him for the top 10 all time QBs but it's not that hard a case to make, either. The dude was tough as hell and a human highlight reel in his prime.

We have this large bubble of football fans/pundits who one year ago would be completely up-in-arms that Rodgers was snubbed. The ”GOAT vs GOAT” joke game vs GB in 2018, whereas no one said anything aboit Brees being in the GOAT conversation when Pats played Saints in 2017.

But now that Brees crosses two random stat thresholds, the media has discarded Rodgers for Brees, who before last year would not be in any top-10 debate. This goes to show how fickle fans/pundits are.

I’m starting to think Wilson is going to surpass both of them fairly soon.

He already has passed Rodgers IMO, Rodgers hasn't been elite since 2016.

The best argument for Brees' place in history is that he made the Saints relevant, which at the time was on par with saving the Browns or Lions in terms of "things that won't happen in our lifetimes."

My point is that in 2014, Rodgers bad “already passed Brees” and that sentiment continued until Brees hit the counting yard/TD milestones. Let’s say Rodgers wins a SB this year...Is think with 2 MVPs and 2 SBs he is clearly ahead of Brees on all-time rankings. Both players are one event away from being surpassed by the other, so both have pretty weak footing. And it’s late in their careers for this.

On the top 100 show, Rich Eisen said he wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't ask BB what his thoughts are of being talked about as the GOAT. That said why didn't Rich Eisen ask TB12 the same question?

Cause Rogers Breez and Ma Homes are the goats. Bradie is a cheeter and sistum qb.

Because they were more interested in talking to Brady about his Super Bowl losses especially to the Giants.

Guys we need to enjoy calling Drew the GOAT while we can. In 10-15 years anyone who calls a quarterback other than Mahomes the greatest will be looked at as foolish.
@Ice_Ice_Brady

Unless he gets Peyton’d and dragged to a title, he will not win another championship. The guy literally looks scared in the postseason, even playing at home. I think he’s out of chances now.

Not only that, but I really think Brady is such a an insanely competitive killer that he will not retire until he takes the volume stat records too. He may play to win as a 100% priority, but I think he doesn’t want Brees outlasting him...that would sort of diminish his spiritual quest to become the oldest, biggest outlier athlete in terms of aging. Think this may be part of Tom’s motivation right now, to become rejuvenated, basically pull a 2012 Peyton act, and get to have a great offensive line and ballers at the skill positions. Tom is a psycho about winning and always wins.

Brady's dealt with that question in the past. And by dealing with it, I mean that he shrugs it off and doesn't name anyone as G.O.A.T..
