Sherman will be on Hill. He cannot guard Hill one on one which means that Hill will be doubled. Who is covering Watkins, Kelce, Hardman, etc? San Fran’s only chance is their DL getting home on stunts, rips, etc. Not only is KC’s OL up to the task, but Mahomes gets the ball out too quickly. I still see them putting up 30+ points. I don’t see San Fran doing the same.
I hope you are wrong. It's happened before, you know. ;)

Why not double hill with the other corner. Sherman plays a side anyway

Hopefully the 49ers can carry Jimmy one last time in a couple weeks. Hard to imagine a scenario where 7 pass attempts gets it done against KC.

were they supposed to abandon the run when it worked just to get yo a magical pass attempt number

Lol Florio thought it should be Niners -7. I expected Chiefs by one or two.

OP, you are in deep doo doo when @TommyBrady12 finds out you started this thread before he did...

you put Sherman on Kelce not hill

Of course not. But they will be expected to be more dynamic if they have to keep up with a legit offense like the Chiefs on a neutral field, and not career choker Rodgers and the Pack at home.

they will be they have the weapons vs a suspect defense. This isn’t Tennessee where KC got away with crowding the line like that Kittle will eat them alive if they try that and they have Samuel/Sanders

Can you change Hill to Parker and Sherman to Gilmore, and send it as a telegram to Bill Belichick? Gilmore doesn’t play a side, but the stubborn refusal to keep him 1-on-1 probably cost them a bye.

well the pats are primarily a man team while the 49ers play zone.

Richard Sherman against the Chiefs receivers would scare the crap out of me if I were a 49er fan.

Sure, they’re a man team, but they can still double/bracket the other team’s best receiver. They’ve always either done that or just put Gilmore on an island with the stud receiver. It wasn’t working against Parker/Miami, and they could have switched Jackson onto him with McCourty or Harmon helping, and put Gilmore on WR2. Instead they just kept Gilmore in there, who was having his worst matchup of the year. Same thing with DeAndre Hopkins earlier in the season, where they didn’t switch him and also got burned by Fuller (who Gilmore would have erased.). They always do something abysmally stupid versus the Dolphins and seeding on the line, like the infamous Steven Jackson game and playing Gronk at safety over McCourty for the Miami Miracle.

An all-pro cornerback? They just won’t put him on Hill alone, as probably no one should be. He got burned one play by Adams, but it happens...Adams is a great receiver.

Niners -7 makes no sense because they were about -7 at home against the Packers today. The Chiefs are clearly a stronger team than the Packers, and this is a neutral field. That said, I’m a bit surprised the Chiefs are favored and feel like the line is off because of the Mahomes magic (not that the guy isn’t brilliant.). I would have guessed/capped at anywhere from 49ers -3 to -4.5, but I’ve been really high on them all year.

You really need a safety on guys like Hill or Fuller, which is why the Patriots didn't put Gilmore alone against them. They're top speed guys, and Gilmore (however good an athlete and technician) isn't a top speed guy. You can't really trust any corner in the league to cover guys that fast alone downfield.

If you were the 49ers coordinator, you'd put Moseley on Hill with safety help and let sherman do his thing? What about Kelce
