CB Poole - after we punt j mccourty, Poole makes great sense as a veteran who can make plays in press man coverage and off coverage.
He sure looked good back in the 2003 season, so let’s hope that he can still lace them up in 2020.

Been calling for Reader & Armstead.

Schubert is an excellent coverage LB

Conklin would be a big upgrade from Cannon if they think his best days are gone

Simmons

Littleton again pretty good in coverage can really move

TE should be a focus though. 2 really decent ones & Henry might be cheaper than some think.

I would have said Henry as Ive always been a big fan but he's getting paid

Perriman is interesting

Def Green if he's not that expensive. He still has plenty left and should be ready for a winner after years in Cinci

Why the hell would you want A.J. Green? He's constantly hurt and he's 32 in July!! He's an aging WR with a history and injuries.

He should have plenty of time to properly heal, and even 75% of the usual Green would still make him an explosive receiving option on a team that lacks any aside from Julian. The likelihood of deep throws, red zone targets, contested catches, and chain-moving possession grabs still make him an attractive option.

In other words, there’s still a good chance that Belichick and company could get a nice year out of him, maybe even two. The biggest question would be the price tag, as his value on the market may likely still be too rich for NE.

If they’re cut I wouldn’t mind signing Patterson or Andre Roberts for return duties.

Kyle Juszczyk would be my top target for the Pats. Best fullback I've ever seen. He's even a threat in the passing game. He'd be great with Micheal & would be a perfect Patriot. However, I doubt San Fran will let him walk, because he & Kittle are that offense.

Eli Manning

I want to say that he’s signed a new contract a few years ago, and I think it runs out next season.

Hunter Henry.

The other Henry is going to get vastly overpaid by some team that ignores that his production was completely correlated to Tannehill's ascension into the ranks of top-5 QBs. I'd rather throw that money at Jack Conklin, who was actually responsible for it.

Robbie Anderson at wideout feels like almost chalk. He'll come cheaper than he should because the Jets suck and the Patriots know him and he's got what they lack - speed to burn.

Cory Littleton to replace Van Noy, Javon Hargrave for beef in the middle.

Karl Joseph if McCourty goes, though he won't.

Austin Hooper, Ebron, Hunter Henry would
Happily take any of those. My ideal guy would be Henry as he’s a great blocker as well as a receiving threat too.

Will be interesting to see what happens this off season.

I'd be stunned if Patterson isn't cut or forced into a paycut. I think he'll return to New England.

Jordan Phillips, if the price is right. They obviously like him.

Steelers, Patriots, Saints Wanted Jordan Phillips

But seems like he wants to get PAID, so probably not a good fit in that regard.

The PFR advanced stats have him somewhere around 15th-20th among DTs in total pressures (hurries, hits, and sacks combined) depending on how we count the 3-4 DEs that would be 4-3 DTs. He’s only worth big money if he maintains his rate of getting a sack on half of his total pressures, which can’t possibly happen long term.

Can't blame any of these FA for going after the money. These guys are playing against their long term health, reason for so many recent <30 yo retirees. Teams don't care about these guys so loyalty is dead.

Michael Pierce, NT - BAL
Mike Glennon, QB - OAK
Jonathan Williams, RB - IND
Tajae Sharpe, WR - TEN
Blake Bell, TE - KC
Erik Tomlinson, TE - OAK
Stephen Weatherly, DE - MIN
DeAndre Houston-Carson, S - CHI

Kennan Allen through a trade since he’s on his last year and LaC should be rebuilding soon

Who the Patriots should trade for would be an interesting thread (and another opportunity for me to advocate for Stafford) but it's not this thread.

What about bringing back Logan Ryan?

Why? With Gilmore, Jackson, JMac, Jones, Williams, and Ross. I think that the Patriots are actually stacked at CB.. It's the Safety position I'm worried about.

DMac is a FA. Brooks showed he wasn't that good on defense. In fact, he was horrid as a replacement for Chung. A position that Williams should easily take over.

And I'm not convinced that Harmon is the guy to step into McCourty's shoes in terms of play-calling.

Robbie Anderson? You mean the guy who got arrested on 9 charges including resisting arrest on 2 separate occasions? And one of them included him threatening the arresting cop's wife? That Robbie Anderson?
