OT: Tua Decision.

Tua gets injured way too much for me to be comfortable with him. In half the games he had to come off at some point because of a hit. When NFL linemen start coming at you, won't the results be just as bad?

This guy will not make it in the NFL. The Patriots should pretend he doesn't exist and never utter his name.

Can you honestly say if Tua miraculously fell to 323 you would not grab him for the Pats in a heart beat. He is so talented. You do not get shots at talent like that too often. In reality I would say he will be picked in the 3-5 range so ZERO chance for pats to get him (not even by trading up).

Gronk was an injury nightmare in college but in the pros was able to carve out a hall of fame career. I
f they can not get Tua, I would be so happy if the Pats could get Jalen Hurt in 3rd round. I think he is a steal. His floor is Dak Prescott and his ceiling is Steve McNair.

Stidham.

Fitz was their top rusher. I suppose Fitz and Tua would a fine duo.

Phins will get him. They will copy the Ravens option plays!

Will give the Patriots fits since they play them 2 games every season....

What are you basing this on? The hip was a freak injury. Maybe the repeated ankle injuries?

The hip will be impossible to fully recover from especially now that he's had surgery and will degenerate. He might be able to stave it off a while because he's young, but not for long playing football at the pro level. Having repeated ankle problems is not a good sign either. He's only 6-foot-1 so he'll probably have to roll out a lot and isn't as great a running threat as others in his category (Wilson/Brees/Mayfield/Murray), especially with joint problems. No idea how smart he is or about his attitude, but foregoing his senior year probably was a mistake.

Leaving early is the best decision he could have made. Staying another year could only hurt him more. He wouldn't go any higher next year.

Shorter QBs don't have to roll out more often or w/e you're trying to say there. It's pocket presence/movement & awareness that helps not height.

You're making a lot of assumptions playing Dr with all due respect.

If he had a great senior year proving himself healthy while gaining further leadership experience/maturity, wouldn't that solidify him as a surefire top pick? Seems there are questions about him at this point that could contribute to sliding.

You're right, pass-blocking schemes can be designed to accommodate shorter guys finding passing lanes.

Yes, but the hip is a huge concern going forward.

Honestly no, unless something drastic happens with Lawrence he's going #1 overall. Just too much there to pass on. Fields is right there as well who could easily be #2 overall.

I know it sounds crazy a year out but honestly nothing is changing imo. These 2 have been competing since hs & passed every test so far in terms of what they can show in college.

He'd be a top 5-10 pick in either draft but has more to lose going back.

Hip is definitely a concern but not a deal breaker rn. If Dr's/teams clear him which I'm leaning towards bc he's coming out you can't pass on him in a QB or nothing league imo. It's the only position you gamble on.

I see Tua and I smell a Mariota...

I’m an Alabama fan so i love me some Tua, but I don’t think he is going to be a great NFL QB. When I watch him I see Matt Leinart. Maybe it’s just the lefty thing but I don’t have a lot of confidence in him as a pro.

Similar to Leinart I think his game is so hard to judge because he has so much talent around him. He is throwing to potentially 3 first round talent WR’s and handing it off to a top 50 RB behind a ridiculously talented OL. He has never had to throw it into tight windows because his WR’s win so easily. It’s easy to have good accuracy when your WR are running free, I just don’t know if he can consistently fit it into tight coverage.

I much prefer Jake Fromm as a QB prospect or even take Jalen Hurts late as a gadget guy to pair with Stidham in a Taysom Hill type role.

I was going to congratulate you on getting some ass but then I saw it said “Tua.”

The Pats have too many needs. To pick him, it has to be a gift.

Just as a reminder - the team could always trade UP in the first. The bright side to looking like a complete ****ing disaster on offense and taking an L in the Wild Card round is they get a higher pick. This helps with trading.

I winder what kind if compensatory pic Brady would garner, should be 3 first rounders in my opinion

Lamar Jacksons days are numbered. He better win it all this year.

Trying to be the RB and QB in the NFL never pans out. Jackson will eventually zig when he should have zagged and take the big hit hurting him. Eventually, Jackson will be coached to remain in the pocket and throw the ball away. 50% of his game taken away. Very few guys that are dual threats can make the transition. Donovan McNabb did, but Mike Vick and RG3 could not make it.

Bill really gonna win a SB with Stafford & get him into the HOF isn't he?

Idk I can see hesitations on trading up but QB has to be addressed. Vet, trade, draft. Think we have to make a move. Bill isn't just going to hand Stidham the job. He's going to have to earn it.
