The supporting cast is a joke. Even Edelman stunk.
That's what you fail to understand though. Another team with good supportive cast is an already playoff contender, and all set at the QB position.
I mean who are these teams with good supporting casts? Ravens? Niners? Packers? They all have great casts but are also set at QB.
Any team who's QB needy is a bottom feeder. Who is going to play for? Which means need a QB? Bengals? Broncos? LOL... Tom is good, but even Tom can't compensate for lack of talent (see this year's talent). You need system, you need great coaches, etc.
Brady won't win **** with any team out there that needs a QB. Teams that have good rosters are all set at QB, and teams that need a QB are **** all around, and Brady knows he won't win Jack with those organizations.
At 43 I don't see him telling his wife and kids they are moving to the South, the West, or anywhere in between.
What you are saying is 100% true. The attrition will continue with the possible lossIF I was Brady I wouldn't come back to this Untalented Team on the Offensve side of the ball. We have no real threat at WR: Zero TE's and a Second year First Round RB who's just average. Brady needs to go to a Team with a good supporting cast. Not a Team with Harry and Sanu who can't get separation. Brady has Two years left Tops I wouldn't waste them here. Too bad we Drafted poorly in a good Draft year. We still need WR's and TE's: Brady ain't wasting his Final years with Rookies and I wouldn't blame him.
That would be nice if he comes back for another two years, but I see it as unlikely without significant personnel changes. He’s never really tried to dictate the personnel around him, but with 2-3 years left, he wants a solid O-line and real weapons on offense. Not weapons who might be good when he is done, but weapons now. As for the system, there are a lot of former a Pats coaches around the league who have run it and what Daniels runs is not the same as O’Brian and not the same as Weiss. As I said dozens of times here, Brady is 43 this year. He has made enough money, he's not chasing money. He's chasing Lombardis.
He's not uprooting his whole family to another state just to make a few more dollars. He knows he needs Belichick, his system, and Kraft as leverage to win anything.
At 43 he's not going to learn a new offensive system, get acquainted with new OC, new HC, dozens of players, etc.
He's staying right here. They'll resign him for 2 more years, retool the offense, and give this dynasty another couple of shots.
I should also add that with the uncertainty on our entire defense (i.e. the status of the McCourtys, Chung, Jon Jones, Hightower, Van Noy, Jamie Collins), and some key players on offense (Edelman, Thuney, Andrews, Brady), this team is going to need to do a lot of retooling.
& our draft resources given some of the trades (Sanu) are not stellar.
In fact, you can look at the Sanu trade in a variety of ways:
1. We were desperate and had to get someone, anyone.
2. Belichick fell too much in love with another Rutgers guy.
3. Worst of all: Belichick realized that this was the entire team's last hurrah and he knew that a top WR was absolutely required for one last shot.
If, internally, the Patriots believed this was it for this particular team (and here I'm referring to Brady, Edelman, and all the guys mentioned on defense) then it would not surprise me if the Patriots move on without Brady.
We may be looking at a rebuilding year. Not a retooling year. Even Gilmore could be on the block.
Why would anyone jump off a cliff after 2017? Pissed they lost to the Eagles, but Brady passed for 500 yards in that lossThis is a team that has won 3 out of the past 5 super bowls. They'll figure it out. I bet you were one of the ones who were jumping off a cliff after 2017.

Seriously. I don’t understand this forums infatuation with PFT. He’s not that good. It's not really a report. He flat out said that in his presser.
And McDaniels is likely to sign one or two of the free agents. What you are saying is 100% true. The attrition will continue with the possible loss
of up to 18 free agents including 7 starters and three key special teams players. This
is probably also the year McDaniels and Caserio move to greener pastures. How many
coaches and front office personnel will join them? In the shadows lurks the video
situation. How big a kick in the ass will Roger deliver? Belichick is faced with a massive
rebuilding job with an aging team and little salary cap money.
Would be nice if Andrews comes back. He was around for some off field team events, so that's a good sign. I never knew how good he was until we didn't have him. Wynn, was solid but not spectacular. Thuney is a free agent. Do they pay big money to both guard positions? Mason was either hurt all season or not as good as thought (I thought he looked better lately). Cannon looks done. this O-Line could not punch it in with three runs from the 1 yard line against the Titans. On none of those plays did they get a decent push against the Titan's front 7. Hard to feel pretty good about that going forward.Assuming Andrews comes back and with Karras and Wynn playing solid late this year I feel pretty good about the OL. (maybe one of the 2 2019 picks becomes a rotational player)
Tight End to me is the key - if they can somehow come up with a 2 way TE it will solve a ton of their issues. Hope that Harry and Sanu make a 2nd year jump and try and bring on someone like OBJ and with a healthier Edelman the WR's could be fine. See if Brady will come back on an incentive laden deal and the offense should be good enough to make a run.

What about Brady to the Browns? If Josh goes there, they have 50 mil in cap space. Baker Mayfield regressed this year, so having 1 or 2 years to learn from the bench might benefit him.
In Cleveland, Brady would have OBJ and Landry, Njouka, and an Elite RB in Chubb. The Browns could also sign AB and give Brady the best Wrs core he has ever played with.
