Honestly anyone afraid of Spygate/Deflategate proportion backlash from the fans and media aren’t going to see their fears materialize this time. Scandal fatigue is a real thing, and after these allegations come out time after time, people lose interest; check the clicks on PFT, for example, versus 2007 and 2015 and you’ll see a fraction of the interest. In addition, the Patriots are playing so badly (and vulnerable) with their most hated player looking embarrassed right now.

People going “oh it was only 8 minutes” are kind of ignoring that the only reason why it’s only 8 minutes is because they were accosted and stopped from continuing by Bengals staff.

It isn't now. It was at the time.

They changed the rules after Spygate.

The rule was that you could film from any place with 3 walls.
I left out the 'three walls' because I didn't think it necessary to add that because what was repeated over and over again was filming from the sidelines which was ok until goodell put out a memo stating that it was no longer legal to do.

how do you know they were filming the bungles staff? Is this conjecture on your part or has it been disclosed?

Yup. Outside of this board theres not a lot of people that care anymore. Even the haters were drained by the whole deflategate saga.

Was hearing this morning on EEI that it was an independent contractor doing the filming, meaning likely a local person. Seems they'll have to look into that person, their experience etc. I could see a local kid getting excited about being up in the press box and so shooting a little harmless field action of a souvenir.

Either way, not a good look for the Patriots.

8 minutes is about 5% of the plays. There were about 92 plays in the game. They probably recorded single digit number of plays assuming the 8 minutes is correct and real time not game time.
Just remember that they weren’t stopped from filming at the end of the game. It was sometime during the 1st half. So the 5% comment really isn’t accurate.

This is only Spygate 2 according to PFT? I thought this was like Spygate 7.

This is a bad look. A major problem too. This team absolutely cannot afford to lose draft picks in their current state. Nor can they afford to have the GOAT coach be suspended while they transition to a new QB. Both of these things could happen. Embarrassing.

Current state? What current state?

Their 10-3, most likely are going to win out and finish 13-3.

You need to cut back on the sky is falling rhetoric with this team.

loving the texts from friends and the media stories. It’s scary how much an agenda driven media can control a story and shape the reactions to it.

Imagine what this would look like outside of the world of football

fake news indeed
This whole thing is like roids for the chicken littles.

My god, of there is any truth to this BB is done. Given their history, the sheer stupidity of taping the Bengals coaches, just the optics of it, would be unimaginable. There aren’t even signals to steal! Everything is done by radio....

Like from Monty Python, "He's not DONE, yet!!!"

For all we know it could’ve been a camera pointed at the sidelines and 8 min went by before a staff member realized. No need to get worked up about any of this until the facts come out.

Adam Jones had an on-air orgasm last night. Where he once again proclaimed the Pats as one and done in the playoffs. After of course his take of the Bruins being 3rd or 4th best in the Eastern Conference and the Celtics being around a 5th or 6th seed. The radio stations in this market hire people who hate the local teams so it creates controversy. Felger is a Wisconsin sports fan and Mazz is a hardcore closet Yankees Fan. None of this should surprise anyone.

Yep...I was on a train from DC to Boston last year the week leading up to the AFCCG, apparently Trenni has worked in the KC market or with someone who now works in the KC market. Either way I was streaming their morning show to get a sense of how they were feeling going into the game. Trenni came on and just completely **** on the Pats, Boston fans etc...She did the whole "Ah I am not going to answer that" routine a couple of times. To her credit she did say she wouldn't count the Pats out, brave statement right there.

But its ridiculous that it appears the Boston sports market powers to be go out of their way to hire people that despise the local teams. I hear nothing but homerism in every other market I find myself listening to. I'm not saying I want every one in the market to be a ball washer, but neutrality isn't/shouldn't be to much to ask for.

Sideline footage is vague. I know the tweet said focused on the sideline, let’s see if it was focused on any coaches delivering signals. We can assume there was no panning to the scoreboard for down and distance but no one here knows for sure. Let’s see the tape.

Even if its coaches signals, it may not answer anything. The league may have to conduct interviews to find out the purpose of the video.

In my unofficial polling of this thread, I find it fascinating there are more fans who care about how it looks and how it effects them than any punishment the team may receive.

One who is not brainwashed one way or the other can see this every single day in the news media, some outlets have openly admitted it.

Man a lot of you just don’t fu.cking get how bad this looks and no amount of Matt “Baghdad Bob” Chatham tweets are going to make this all better.

Oh, how clever! Let's make fun of a knowledgeable ex-Patriot LB, while casting him as an Iraqi media stooge, and casting by implication the Patriots as Saddam Hussein and the NFL as the United States. All without knowing what's was actually taped and who ordered it. What a Patsfan!

Oh, im not worked up about it I was here in 07, I've been trough this before, but things are being posted that need clarification.

The way the NFL handles investigations, we will get the news of punishments and fines Super Bowl week while the Pats prepare to play.
