No, our defense is going to carry the team.

That's what I meant....the defense will do its part and put us in position, but the offense is going to decide how far we are to go. Bottom line, we know that the defense is gonna keep even the best offenses in the league under 25 points when on top of their game....but can our offense score 25+ against anybody?

Chiefs radio hosts are extremely confident about this game. They are almost convinced they are going to win the game.

NE has owned that team when it matters. They are still suffering a severe case of PTSD from that AFCCG, where the Pats won a trophy named after their former owner on their own home field. A trophy, by the way, that's sitting in the trash can at Gillette Stadium, because it means nothing here.

Pats are coming off a loss, so they will jump on anything they can to make themselves believe, but deep down, they know who their daddy is.

And I interpreted lightskinsmurf's comment as the defense will take this team as far as it can and that the offense is what it is at this point...

Either way....Lets F-ing Goooooooo!!!!

As per bedard, KC has played a lot of man recently which is again going to be a challenge this week for our WRs.

Good. As the tape has shown getting open won't be the issue. It will be about stringing together plays where all parts of the offense execute at the same time.

If the OL can reduce the pressure on Brady by 10%, Brady finds the open man just about 10% more often and WR reduce their communication issues/unforced mistakes by the same 10% we hopefully see the first semi-complete game by the offense.

Add in better ball security and fewer penalties and the game should be a win.

If you don't ask them to turn from the garbage that was Houston to absolute perfection but just step wise improvements all over it suddenly doesn't sound that improbable.

I had to force myself to pick the patriots to win this game. I don't feel great about it because I have zero faith in this offense right now. However, we're at home and I think the defense will make some plays and force turnovers. If they don't, we lose. That simple. We are going as far as our defense can take us this year.
I’m not going to feel comfortable picking them either. This feels like a game where we get our cheeks clapped at home. Hope I’m wrong though.

If that happens then what? Everything spirals? The chiefs could run the table and all it would take is another loss to be playing on wildcard weekend and heck maybe even have a battle for the division with the bills. Yikes. It feels like this game is a momentum changer. Have to win and show some offense.

If that happens, the team has to regroup and figure things out. Same as any other loss.

If we come out and smash mouth the Chiefs, establish the run and don't get away from it, it should simplify the passing game for our offense.

We could have done that against Houston but we got away after successfully running down their throats after the first drive.

Yeah our offense needs to execute better, but McD needs to call a better game imo.

Still not doom and gloom with this offense. I hope they can put it together so the hot takers can STFU.

Its really about the RZ offense . All those chances vs the eagles for e.g. , change them to TDs and that game score looks vastly different. They are converting 49% in the RZ . If they can get to running the ball there, their scores will go up and defenses will need to adjust.

There won't be a need to pass the ball much. Their run defense can't help but give up numerous explosive plays each game. This running attack looks much better with Wynn back, and with Roberts getting more comfortable at FB. Should be able to pound them with ease.

What the Chiefs should be most worried about is their struggling offense, which looks weak both on the ground and through the air, going up against this defense on the road.

They scored 41 points last week.

Why did they stop running after that first series? Sincere question.

As I mentioned last week, win or lose, Houston is an afterthought and nobody should worry about them. They are very inconsistent and haven’t proven anything in the playoffs.

This is a big game however. Chiefs seem pretty hobbled so this may be a close game. But the Pats really need to show some life with the offense early.

Thanks for confirming you didn't watch the game.

If scoring 31 points on offense means they are struggling how would you characterize the Patriot offense?

Answer to this question was that the defense brought another man into the box to stop it.

I would characterize them as a passing offense that has been struggling due to injuries to their WRs, and a running attack that has been improving since Wynn's return - one that will be going up against a putrid run defense.

If you actually watched that game and thought their offense played well, you clearly don't understand what you were watching. They struggled mightily to move the ball, and finished the game with something like 250 total yards for barely over 4 yards per play.

As has been the case for the last month or so, their offense has benefited from turnovers, but have failed to do much with them. Their interior OL is garbage, and will be abused with ease on Sunday. Mahomes, whether it's because his injuries have taken their toll, or because there's more film on him, has been poor in the intermediate/deep passing game, and they have no run game.

This doesn't bode well for them going up against this defense on the road. Their receivers are soft and they fold against physicality. They've got no run game to lean on, and Andy Reid's creativity on offense hasn't been able to bail them out.

If the O suffers the fans there at the game need to start chanting “We want AB!” Over and over and over again. Loud and clear.
