This is the first national (ESPN-type) story I recalling saying this. Manning is dismissed pretty early in the article. I'm loving it and I agree!

Nothing against Peyton, but at this rate he’s going to be three Super Bowl wins behind the pace again. Brady is that unstoppable, as is the Patriots machine. Advantage: Brady.

Let’s face it – everything is advantage Brady.

Yes. Way to dismiss the guy. Nothing but cold hard football facts.

i read that article...this is like 2 weeks AFTEr he bashed the pats...LOL

but yea, i sure did like it...who doesnt?

Nick Bakay is more a humorist than a national sports columnist.

Don't get me wrong, doesn't make him less knowledgeable, just funnier. I love Nick, but I wouldn't take this as dispassionate journalism.

That was a great article. Thanks for the link, Roballen.
Of all the QBs mentioned there, I think Brady compares best with
Bart Starr. Both men willing to do what was necessary for the team to
win at the cost of personal stats. I know Unitas and Montana have good cases, too.

Losing your sense of humor Ryan is the mark of most Colts fans these days...

"Is there an honest football fan among you who won’t admit to the Brady yearning? Even those of you who have it great? Bengals fan? Come on down! Colts nation? Yes, I mean you! Don’t be ashamed. I root for a team in his division, I don’t like it any more than you. But this Brady thing… it’s bigger than all of us."

When Brady takes home #4 after a statistically dominating MVP season he will be labeled among the best of all-time. If the Pats go unbeaten, he will be the BEST, no question.

Ryan's panties get all in a twist whenever ANYBODY knocks his precious Pay-Me-Tons.

here's a newsflash, nitwit...you don't like it,SEEK LIFE ELSEWHERE

and i believe he deserves that status...completely

He has ALREADY been labeled one of the best all-time; it started after SB39. But your second sentence is true.

Montana is still the best IMO with Brady looking like #2 right now and Manning,Unitas,Marino,Elway,Staubach,Bradshaw and others not mentioned all saying hi as close up considerations.

Of Course Manning and Brady are the only 2 on that list that can move up and change Montana from #1 to down a bit IMO

Actually, I hope nothing take seriously that. We all agree Tom is one the best of his era... But, come on, the best ever....

That title is usually awarded when a player is retired...

It is. That said, if he retired today, I personally would feel he is the best ever. So he doesn't have to retire in my eyes to make it true.

But, I'm a fan. And that's what we do.

Isn't it going to be amazing to watch 2 QB's who have been heavily discussed as "the best ever" within the past year play it out on the field? Ratings anyone?

The way I see it is that Brady is the best qb in the league as far as numbers go. Having said that, I think Peyton is the smartest qb in the league and if the colts had the overall team the Pats have, I think he would have just as many, if not more rings than Brady.

You mean with players like Antowain Smith, Jermaine Wiggins, and David Patten?

The team picked last in 2001 by one source and by PFW (IIRC) as one of the 5 teams most likely to go nowhere?

I think that's fair, assuming he keeps up the hard work.

He's a Larry Bird with a helmet. I don't expect him to ever be satisfied with anything but maximum effort. And so I do expect him to improve over the years and make a statement that has never been made.

In team sports sometimes it can be hard to compare the top athletes individually. Brady and Manning are considered the top two and I really dont think one is that much better than the other, the only thing Brady has on Manning is the fact that he is a winner and can handle high pressure situations, but that is very a significant advantage.

Tom will go down as one of the greatest. If he continues playing at this pace for the entire season and has a few more seasons that are similar goat could be pretty legit. Statistically his numbers haven't been where they need to be to be goat yet. This year is different though. He's dominating this year. He's got the numbers this year. He just needs to sustain dominant individual performance over a number of years. Three or four seasons in his career with an over a 100 QB rating could get him there (not necessarily all in a row).
