He was super informative and insightful.

Today, and more recently, he is way more negative (and even nasty) about the 10-1 Pats than EITHER Felger OR Mazz.

WTH happened... you know what, I don’t care... I’m turning it off. And I’m done with him.

He was insufferable during Deflategate. I was done with him after that.

You need an intervention. Friends don't let friends listen to Squeaky & the douche.

Bedard has become worse than a caricature, I won't subscribe to a site that puts a dime in his pocket. While I can comfortably do without him I really wish McAdam, Miguel & Robb were at The Athletic. I seriously miss McAdam's stuff.

Maybe it was just me, but I always thought he was overrated as an analyst. Don't get me wrong, he put in the work (at least in the beginning), so I give him credit for that. But a lot of people on this board would post his comments from F&M like it was a drop the mic moment. "How can you argue with me on this? BEDARD said the same thing on Felger and Mazz!" Right or wrong, he was held on some unshakable pedestal that I never quite understood.

People listen to that show?

Pretty sure it's North Korean propaganda

Bedard's being pretty straight up on this. Naturally, the team homers find this problematic.

But Bedard is who he is. He's a hit or miss analyst who focuses more on line play than most, wh'so historically blamed Brady for things that were the fault of other players (he's mostly not doing that this year, because the problems elsewhere have been so obvious), and who doesn't suffer the foolishness of Felger/Mazz particularly well.

He's not anywhere near perfect and, if you find yourself too often in agreement with him, you can bet you're getting some stuff wrong, but the O.P. is way off base.

I think it was in the wake of the 2014 KC debacle that I really stopped paying much attention to Bedard. The more recent events like his handling of Loyko-gate or how he tried make one of his fellow journalists (Dave Brown) appear in a pretty shabby light made me almost totally tune out.

He’s a Raiders reporter now who no longer feels the need to endear himself to the chowdahs.
Bet he feels liberated
I’m not listening but I’m guessing he sh*t on NE’s crappy offense and this has caused you butt-hurtia

Loyko-gate? Drawing a blank on that one.

Negativism and nastiness isn’t being straight up... well maybe for you, but not for most. :)

Why don’t you start another fake happy thread? That was adorable. You do some of your best work when you pretend you’re a Pats fan. :D

Loyko had old tweets, can't remember if they were racist or we. Enough to make him run & hide.

GB said he'd have an investigation or something & just never followed through. Pretended it didn't happen.

Both seemed like such good guys :eek:o_O;)

He was dissing Gilmore when I clicked it. Guess again.

First I am hearing of it. Social media is a *****. I try to warn my kids but they are both legal adults now, but **** will come back to bite you in the ass.

Yup. Racist tweets. That guy was a clown car.

Twitter is just unbearable now. I am 31 and I have 15 year old white kids calling me a n****. Hide behind a computer all they want but it's brutal.

Then the 19 year old pats fans who say no SB without AB...ect ect.

It's awful

Bring back MySpace.

The happy thread wasn't fake. I even made sure to keep posting positive observations, and telling people to post only happy thoughts. It was there for you. You didn't show up. And the reason is that it's not about happy thoughts for you people. It's about making sure there are no criticisms that you can't accept.

Also, Bedard was talking about the defense being so good that it could sustain the loss of even a guy playing as well as Gilmore, and singing the praises of Edelman and Thuney. Now, perhaps your mind is twisted enough that such comments are negative and nasty, but most people would think it something other than that.

Lloyko's gone. What more was supposed to be done?

The only time I watch that show is when Bedard's on - I find him pretty straightforward nad honest. I don't agree with him all the time, but he's always offered great insights to things I just don't have time to study.

Felger is insufferable, and Mazz knows nothing about football.

Also, I bet Ben Volin gets more "clicks" than Curran or Kyed. Being a contrarian or just plain nasty troll pays. Talk radio's formula is built on it, sports and political.

Oh, come on, man. You even say in your above post you were aiming it at me, as you call me a homer. LMAO

It's about making sure there are no criticisms that you can't accept.

I accept all criticisms of the team. Newsflash: They're not perfect. You on the other hand post your laughing emoji when someone mentions Lombardis and the teams current record. That's not a fan. Is it? How can it be?

That's your interpretation of what he said. And I'll let peers here judge between the two of us as to who's got the twisted mind.

Well, MORE twisted. :)

Yes, I created a happy thoughts only thread because the homers were complaining about too much negativity in the regular thread, and ruining the thread in the process. I then proceeded to post in that happy thoughts thread, and to try policing it when people made negative posts. And then, when I returned the next day and saw the thread missing, I asked why it had been merged into the regular thread, because it was specifically created to be separate from that thread. Celticsblog has an optimism only thread pinned, and I was emulating that. How is that a bad thing in your mind?

I accept all criticisms of the team.

Obviously not, since you're whining about them and making crap up about people who are making them.

I think the ridiculousness of this portion of your post goes a long way in explaining the problem here. Given that I'm on record as nothing that BB and Brady pretty much always find a way to overcome the problems, until the problems become too much in the face of high-level competition, and given my overall posting history, someone like yourself, who claims that he'll accept all criticisms of the team, should know better than to question my being a fan.

That's your interpretation of what he said. And I'll let peers here judge between the two of us as to who's got the twisted mind.

No, that's not my interpretation of what he said. That's what he said. He sang the praises of the defense, and its depth, and stated that he thought it was so good, and so deep, that it could overcome the loss of even Gilmore. He also gave Edelman and Thuney high praise for their play. That's not interpretation. That's what he said as part of the "3 up/3 down" segment.

I agree with DI on this. Here's the thing. You don't have to always agree with someone's point of view to like him. I'm a subscriber, and Bedard pisses me off on occasion, but so WHAT! What I appreciate about Bedard is that he give an opinion and THEN backs it up with facts that support his position. He doesn't just spout out opinions just to troll them. These are things he BELIEVES in. If I disagree, he will argue his point honestly and never blows people off who are willing to back up their own point of view with data. That's all you can ask of a reporter/analyst. Why would you want to hear from someone who just tells you what you want to hear.
