Wynn alone is not going to solve all the problems on offense...

I agree with you. In years past Brady always took the high road, he never showed his displeasure with any team member or the team in public. I always admired that about him.
This year things have not been easy, this year our D is so much better than the O ( we don't say that often ), but instead of trying to work out the kinks, he is coming across as grumpy and his heart isn't in it. That's is what I gather from his media conversations. He always said he would hang em up if he didn't enjoy it anymore and so I wonder if that time is coming a lot sooner than we wanted .
This might not be the most talented group we have had, but it's whom we have, Brady has to deal with it. He needs to work more with all the WR's . Given a chance I can bet that Meyers and Harry will be great additions but the QB has to embrace them. Instead he says he doesn't trust rookie WR's !!!! What example is he setting for these young guys ?
I have always backed Brady and love what he has given our team, but he needs to act like the mature , kind. considerate man and QB we all know he is .
Last week the D was completed embarrassed in Baltimore so they made sure they had a great game today. Even though we won , the O was lethargic, let's see if they will come out and play with fire next week, they were the group that almost lost the game today.

He better start t trusting Harry and Meyers because AB and Gordon ain't coming through that door.

He doesnt need to solve all the problems on offense, just a pile of crap playing LT at the moment. If he can hold it down and play will that will have a trickle down offense on the rest of the offense.

OTAs are only something like 8 days, and that's only a couple of on field hours a day. Not only that, but we know that Brady was working with Harry off-field during that time. If you're buying that 8 days on the field in June are what's wrong with the offense, I've got a bunch of bridges in various deserts that I'd love to sell you. In the past 2 years, the missed time has resulted in 1 Super Bowl and a 9-1 record, yet you think people should be pointing fingers at the G.O.A.T. because Jakobi Meyers didn't get enough "me" time with Brady? Come on, now.

I'm fine with it. He's right to be pissed after that performance by the offense, after all, and everyone knows it.

Sorry, but I'm not seeing the problem there. But, perhaps if the team still had AB, JG and DT, instead of rookies who are running the wrong routes in week 10, Tom would be giving off a happier vibe.

Yeah, all of those things said with a stone face. And you people who don’t think a couple of hours with your new NFL QB who expects you to run precise routes matters are conveniently making excuses for that QB who now says he doesn’t trust those receivers.

Edit - I am going to stop the argument because it’s going off the rails. I agree Brady & the Pats have lost a lot in the receiver department and it’s going to take a lot of adjustments to get where they want to be. My complaint is solely with his attitude at the presser. Part of getting where he wants to be, hard as it may be, is getting on the same page as Myers and Harry. Acting like you’re at a funeral after a hard-fought road win was uncharacteristic and uncalled for.

It might give brady the extra second from the blind side he needs.

Did you watch the game I did? Where Stonefeet McStoney completely whiffed on multiple blocks and missed his assignment on screens?

Either the route was automatic (does not seem to be what happened here), in which case the QB is irrelevant, or he completely blew a read that's been worked on for months, with various QBs. In neither case is this a problem that throwing in shorts in June would have fixed. Meyers blew a read of the defense, not of the QB. It would have been the same read regardless of who was throwing the ball.

Didn’t you see them during the game?
Check out the run blocking too.

I know what I saw during the game. I also know that it's not nearly as bad as the Couch Coaches we have on this board would like everyone to believe..

What did you guys think of N'Keal Harry? I was a bit disappointed, didn't see too much but I have very amateur eyes to say the least. Thought maybe he'd flash something, although it's his first game back and he's a rookie. Encouraged that I saw Sanu say he's "special."

He made a really nice move on what I think was his second reception to turn nothing into something, and showed good hands digging the ball out on his last reception.

Dorsett will be in concussion protocol, so he could very well miss next week's game. So here's hoping that Sanu's leg rebounds quickly, and Harry has a nice second game.

Then stop telling people that he's not playing as bad as they are saying, WHEN YOU ARE BASICALLY SAYING THE SAME THING.

Thanks.

It's called analysis.

  • Karras is not as athletic as Andrews, so we're seeing a team that's lost the ability to pull its center.
  • Mason is having a down year, likely because of an injury (Bedard just said that he expects that he'll end up needing surgery after the season).
  • Cannon is having a lesser year, coming off of multiple injuries.
  • The team doesn't have a FB worthy of the title, now that Develin's on IR.
  • The team doesn't have TEs who can block. That's impacting both the running game and the short passing game.
  • The team has a RB1 who can't get yards on his own. He's also inexplicably bad in the passing game.
  • The team's WR1 has been having some pretty big drops this season.
  • The team's only deep speed at WR has been hurt multiple times this season.
  • The team not only has very little deep speed at WR but, with Gronk gone, it doesn't have the kind of seam threat that can make that less important.
  • And, to top that all off, and the worst of all problems, is that the LT sucks ass like a swarm of mosquitoes on a Donkey's behind.

And noting all of that is not looking for a scapegoat. It's analyzing the offensive play around the QB. If you want a legitimate scapegoat, look to whomever was the final decisionmaker in the cutting of AB.

Michel isn't "inexplicably bad in the passing game". Shows you haven't been paying attention.
Michel got plenty of yards tonight on his own.

We are likely done with him, but it doesn’t look to me like trading out Newhouse for Wynn is going to instantly transform our blocking, especially the running game.

Replacing your worst OL who happens to be playing the LT with a high potential guy can certainly be transformational, depending on how high Wynn's ceiling turns out to be.

this is the key
.

The positive thing is that if Wynn can give Brady just half a second more in pass-pro and be more efficient in the run game a lot of it will change pretty swiftly. .

You do realize it was cold and very windy? Short passes has been a hallmark of the offense for years anyway.

You speak as if we've never seen Brady pass when it was windy. Brady had more incompletions in the first half then EVER in his career. And, the almost interceptions could have easily lost us the game.

No one is saying that they are not happy with 9-1. I know I am extremely happy, however the issue I have is that this the group we have, Brady needs to work with them. Right now he is coming off as not caring enough to get them involved during the game. Bill and RK have let him down this season , but by saying some of the things he comes across as a petulant child.
A big part of the 9-1 is due to the D and sp teams, he did not give them any credit today !!!
That is not the Brady of years past .
We know the O-line is a major liability, maybe he should direct his anger at the coaches for fielding those players and not finding decent O-lineman !!

You don't if you want Cunningham as our swing backup OT.

How can anyone disagree that Newhouse sucks and needs to go....must not understand the game

I think the point is that if you are saying he is a 5th strong OL playing like a 5th string OL that’s the same as saying he sucks. Which makes everyone right in this case

The problem is that there are people on here acting like Newhouse doesn't do anything right and gives up sacks on every play. There are plenty of people, including yourself, who seem to think that having a stationary door would be better than having Newhouse on the field. The problem is that many people are blaming Newhouse for things that aren't in Newhouse's control. Such as people blaming him for the sack today. The sack came from a delayed blitz that was the fault of Karras. Not of Newhouse. Newhouse had the DE tied up and lunged the best he could to try and make a play on the man that Thuney would normally have picked up if he'd been able to pass the DT off to the Center. He couldn't do that and so the LB got in free.

It's on Karras for turning his back on the LB and not paying attention. He's done it on several occasions this year and it's led to a Brady sack each time.

One could also say it was on Brady for not moving the RB (White) over from the right outside position to Brady's left side to pick up the delayed blitz or possibly be a hot route out of the backfield.

The first thing we have to figure out.....is Wynn healthy?

if he is, he is an instant upgrade over Newhouse.

but the fact is, mason, thuney and cannon are playing hurt.

Wynn will add 1/4 to a 1/2 second for Brady. That should make a HUGE difference.

We don't need an all-pro LT to give us a significant boost over the play of Newhouse.

Right. Anyone who thinks we're going to plug Wynn in and jump up to 33 points per game is gonna be disappointed. Newhouse isn't as disastrous as people make him out to be, he just isn't elite like most of our Brady LTs have been
