Tua Tagovailoa injured today - considered serious

LMFAO... what is Auburn doing? Running the play clock all the way down when they’re down 21-0 in the 4th quarter. That’s Gus Malpractice for you.

That just sucks. Really hope he had a ton of insurance

He was that kid that was at every special camp honing his skills forever. Good family, I'd be surprised if they didn't set something up for him.
Good family ? Where did you ever get that impression ? I saw an interview last year and the father seemed like a controlling parent who treats his children like meal tickets.

This is one of the many reasons it makes no sense to try and “win” the first pick. Bad policy, bad odds, bad for team morale, chance of injury.

I think his dad is tough on him.
Better than being an absentee parent. There also may be some cultural components to how kids are raised.

Years of research, talking to people who know a lot more than me & my own opinion.

Their Samoan & devout christian so that right there should tell you all you need to know.

I have absolutely no problem judging people on their actions but try to remain objective. His kids are in college, all have good heads on their shoulders & extremely humble.

Im sure we can finds things to criticize him over. He used to beat Tua w a belt after bad games for example & I've heard other things as well.
Again he's Samoan & christian. Not trying to offend anyone but good luck smoothing those edges. Certainly not perfect but it looks like he did the best he could.

Pay college athletes
NFL bound players can get insurance for these occurrences no? I would like for these kids to be compensated, but I have yet to hear an idea that could accomplish that in any fair way without adverse effects on the college game.

Please explain to me................before we paint everyone of a religion or an ethnic background with the same broad brush.....

Sure can.

The bolded has me confused though. Exactly what would change for the worse?

My son broke a bone in his wrist. The FANTASTIC doctor that we went to explained that there are 3 bones in the body that only receive blood flow from one side. When it breaks the piece on the other side loses blood flow. He did surgery and cut a piece from his hip to place in between the 2 broken pieces and connected them with a titanium rod. He said it was 50/50 that the “other half” would die. We got lucky and it took.
I do not remember if the hip was one of the other 2 bones, but this sounds like what is going on.

One thing I admire in Brady is that he knows how to be tackled safely when he has the time.

My parents are devout Catholics. They never ever struck me with an object and I still somehow made it to college. The fact that I am not an NFL caliber QB has everything to do with my genetics and lack of strength. Not because they didn’t beat me.

If the “best he could” includes abuse, that’s not very impressive.

Yikes, that's super ****ed up. I wasn't as high on him as most, but hopefully this doesn't tank his draft prospects too hard, although it's hard to imagine it won't. Awful injury, awful timing.

This impacts the draft in a big way but maybe not how some think.

This opens up the QB class in a huge way. A lot more than the 1st overall pick believe it or not.

Tua had a great shot at that slot but it wasn't set in stone. I've heard teams, scouts differ on QB1 or the overall #1 itself.
For example Tenn, Mia, Set etc all have types & its possible they might have had another QB in mind.

Tua wasn't falling far at all. He was a top 5-10 pick all day imo.

Now that he's gone there will be a huge opportunity for a guy like Jordan Love. Who has pretty ****ty stats but traits dor days & playing under circumstances less then ideal to say the least. Guy lost tons of teammates, fav target (Raymond) & under his 3rd OC I believe. I was hoping he'd declare, fall to us but even w/out Tua's injury he'd garner a ton of attention if available.

Just something to think about.

Still a great draft class but the QB's lost a top tier talent & teams will still need QBs just as much.

What's to explain?

Different type of backgrounds, ethnicities raise, believe & act certain ways that some might think is too much in the most general sense.

You're surprised in how someone might choose to raise their family based on culture & religion?

Paying college players would trigger an avalanche.

Everybody will want to get paid. Do they have contracts? A salary cap?

And where exactly did I say his father whipping him made him arguably the best QB in the country.

I'm simply not dismissing him or saying he's a bad father bc of it & looking at more then that small fact.
