So Inside the NFL's new weekly segment "Why We Hate the Pats" aired tonight and, just as usual it was fascinating. This week's edition is "When the Pats Run Up The Score, Somewhere an Angel Cries."

Tonight's segment was very insightful; starting off with an ominous Dan Marino warning that, "maybe not this season, but sooner or later running up the score is going to catch up with the Patriots because people won't forget." Needless to say that I, as a Pats fan am now truly frightened. The segment itself was fascinating. Chris Carter and Chris Collinsworth both agreed that they had no idea why they were doing it, but then they gave us this insightful gem: "the Patriots have definitely used the whole spygate thing as a galvanizing force, to create an us versus them mentality." I was floored. It reminded me why I love this show. Nowhere else can you get such truly original and groundbreaking analysis.

I hear next week will be "Pats: Great football team, or ruthless uniform regulation violators?" I'm really looking forward to it, I hear Peter King is going defecate on a Gray Hoodie while Chris Collinsworth combs his hair and laughs smugly. Tune in to HBO Wednesdays at 10pm.

10 years from now, when Brady retires, Dan'll get to say, "I told you so.:snob: "

How awesome was the clip of BB pulling the "uber secret awesomeness" plays out of his socks?:rocker:

Great shots of BB telling his D to "Lets wrap that fugging guy, He's a good runner" .... :singing:

If teams are pissed off the Pats are running up the score on them, then stop them from scoring. High scoring offenses like the Rams in 1999 and 2001, Indy, Minnesotta, etc. have been accused of running up the score from time to time.

I remember two years ago that the Colts went for a two point conversion against us in the fourth with the game in hand back in 2005. I don't remember anyone in the media complaining about that one since Manning and Dungy are untouchable when it comes to character issues.

The thing is if you look at the playoff tiebreakers, strength of victory and total points scored based on common opponents and just in general are used as lower level tiebreakers. Remember in 2002 we lost the division based on the third or fourth tiebreaker.

If this was college ball, the Pats would be rewarded for running up the score. I don't get this unwritten rule that you don't run up the score in the NFL.

The Inside the NFL crew just happen to have two of the leading Patriots haters in all of broadcasting - Marino and Collinsworth. Let them bash.

Marino knows of what he speaks regarding running up the score and payback. After all, we were subjected to the Miami Marks brothers dancing on our grave to the tune of 28-7 and 44-24 laughers in 1984, then came back and ripped their hearts out in the Squish the Fish title game, in the Orange Bowl, in 1985. So maybe Marino is advising the Pats not to be arrogant (o(ksuckers like his old team. Fortunately, that's impossible. No one could ever be as arrogant and obnoxious as those Dolphin teams led by the young coke snorter.

Don't forget the thinly veiled Patriot "wish list" comment at the end from Collingsworthless...."it wouldn't surprise me to see an AFC team go 16-0 and then lose a first round playoff game to the Chargers or Steelers".....sure it could actually happen....but it will never live up to their nightly wet dreams of it happening....

i didnt see the show but just goes to show how ignorant people who have played the game can be. What about the timeout wade phillips took ? what about their defense ?
Welker was asked about this yesterday on ESPN and so did brady on WEEI.
Brady said we show a lot of class and dont run up a score , we are running the ball 4 times with a backup to a backup running back. not throwing it 60 yards.

its just viewers listen to these 3 idiots and think this is true.

Is it my imagination or is there some weird transfer of stuff between Marino and Carter? Every week this season Marino looks dumber and dumber and more bitter (after losing his records to Manning last year, now Favre and Brady this year) while Carter has been appearing more and more intelligent and happier (now that his ex-running mate Randy is doing so well). Loved the bit where chipper Carter uses the word "anomaly" and asks Marino if he knows what it means and he gets the Bambi-in-the-headlights response from Dan (priceless).

I used to think Collinsworth was worth listening to at least some of the time of the time, but he too has turned bitter (and not just against the Pats), maybe it has to do with sitting so close to Marino or its just that side of the table.

Did that actually happen and are you joking about the name of the segment?

It might seem too insightful coming from that show....but.... the comments are real.....the segment name is not....at least not yet...
