So much talk about Brady’s skills (which look remarkably similar to the same as he’s always looked.). Here’s a list of players who are noticeably declining but not a peep from the national media because a Patriots story gets like 100x more clicks.
Philip Rivers (approaching “washed up” territory, though all WBs capable of going on a run)
Ben Roethlisberger (out of shape, elbow problems, I think it’s 50/50 he’s ever a good QB again)
Eli Manning (waiting to collect the last penny of his massively fat contract)
Drew Brees (still can be good as a late career P. Manning type but has lost all zip; incredibly scheme dependent with dump offs)
Cam Newton (so much of his game based on running threat, I think he’s basically done.)
Aaron Rodgers (I thought he was in clear decline the last few years; we’ll see if that was just a series of injuries or a real downward trend; he’s playing really well this season)
In conclusion all of Brady’s peers have noticeably declined due to age, and its obvious when you watch them. Brady still has his fastball and makes guys around him better, but he gets all of the freak-out “declining” stories in the media with ever subpar game, despite a laughably inconsistent offensive support system this season. His actual raw skills are at least 90% the same as his 2017 MVP season.
