He seemed to have decent year last year in Detroit and is still a FA and knows our system.....was wondering if he has anything left (injuries etc) and if so whether they would be able to utilize him as a FB?! Thx

Can we put him at left tackle/kicker instead?

Would prefer Antowain Smith

Can’t be less productive than Michel

If all they need is a guy to block for the lead runner, there are plenty of acceptable choices already on the roster.

Funny but I have to say Folk looked pretty good. I'm not sure yet this year we have two FGs/PATs that split the uprights/looked like good kicks(to be fair Gost was obviously injured) until Sunday night.
IMHO BB needs to put Folk in on some long kicks (preferably when game is in hand). We need to see this guy's mental capability in that game situation. Pretty much every pro kicker can kick a ball long enough to make a 45 yard FG. It's do they have the mental part down to do it is the question.

Why Blount when you can have Butts?

with what offensive line?

I'd rather see if Maroney would be up for a come back. Less mileage and he's probably healed up enough to have his burst back!

This. I mentioned the same a few weeks ago regarding FB in another thread. 6'0" 250lbs.....why not ? He could catch a little too...

Jeremy Hill. His weight has been between 230-240 during his career. He's a good pass blocker...might be ok run blocking as well if given the chance...he can catch too.

I bet LeGarrette's between 240-250 as well. CJ Anderson? Eddie Lacy is 250.

Actually you’re right, Folk was hitting them very straight.

But the visual of Blount kicking field goals would far outweigh any of the negatives, such as misses.

LOL, funny. I can tell ya I wouldn't want to be the placeholder having to watch Blount's mighty boot swinging towards my hand/arm.

I dunno why it reminded me of Dan Connolly and Logan Mankins... brain's a funny thing

  1. Detroit lost a RB, but chose not to bring Blount back, even though he was with the squad last year. That's not a good sign.
  2. Blount's 32 years old. That's not a good age for a RB.
  3. Blount is not a quick-to-speed guy, and has usually needed 2 full steps in order to get his motor into high gear. With the current state of the OL, that's not a good mix.

I'm not saying Blount's done. I'm just saying that I can see why the team might not want him back.

Is the issue the O line w/0 Gronk, Andrews, Develin & Wynn or is it Michel???

I like Blount, but not sure he can make all that much difference..
