This is a "lightning in a bottle - perfect storm" year for the defense.

Lots of guys gone next season.

Next year could be rough. Hopefully we cash in this year.

I think a lot depends on Brady. If he is staying for another season, perhaps McCourty can be convinced to play one more year with his brother (and then both retire after 2020). Also, Dorsett would be more likely to be re-signed.
