Shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone given he missed the entire preseason and hasn't been seen in a while.

There’s a lot riding on Wynn’s health.

We could of done so much more with the pick

He will be ready for next season when Thuney most probably has moved on. Which most probably was the main point of this pick anyway.

And by all accounts without that injury he would have been taken much earlier.

A year less for a higher talent seems like an ok deal to me.

Cajuste was taken at #101. Then came the following:

Alexander Mattison
Hakeem Butler
Ryan Finley
Chauncey Gardner
Maxx Crosby
Anthony Nelson
Julian Love
Khari Willis
Mitch Wishnowsky
Kendall Sheffield
Bryce Love
Justice Hill
Dru Samia
Christian Miller
Amani Hooker
Austin Bryant

Froholdt was then taken at 118. Who's the player who the Patriots could have been expected to look at instead, and that's a big loss, from that list of players taken in between Cajuste and Froholdt?

I think that Froholdt was the one picked to replace Thuney, not Cajuste. Cajuste figured to be the top swing tackle behind Wynn and Cannon with Cajuste eventually taking Cannon's place at RT.

Only time will tell, now.

Please explain just what the Patriots could have done with that pick.
Make sure you back it up with references to the Pats draft list with who was still remaining that was better than Cajuste that they passed over to make the pick. Since that is clearly your belief..

The Achilles is one of those one off freak injuries. Then turf to not as uncommon but still not everyday variety. I am nervous about him staying on the field, but trying to convince myself that lightning can't strike three times in such a short span. Also he was extremely durable in college. Didn't miss a start once he was inserted.

Would love Trent Williams but not for a 1st. Seeing what they would do with big LT and Wynn would be interesting. Now, not sure what I know because suddenly draft picks are like crackerjack around the league after being treated like Gold forever.

This is clearly best for him long term.

He’s under contract for three more years.

Does his contract toll or does the loss of this season for him just make him a RFA?

I understand it could pam out but so far early return is 0

Rookies almost never get us any return in this system. Especially 3rd round rookies. We probably have the lowest rate for rookie contributions in the entire league cause we also never pick high in the draft.

He doesn't accrue a season on NFI, so he'll be an RFA once his contract is up.

Don't know, but Kraft probably would've gone with:

Love - Love - Hooker

Moreau or Knox both promising tight ends. Knox was a few picks before but same diff.
