Honestly I see him coaching/being involved until he dies, he's just too good at what he does and he knows it and I see him having a hard time walking away knowing what he's capable of. Also I see Steve Belichick as the future HC and BB as a GM imagine this in the future

GM Bill Belichick
Head Coach Steve Belichick

Long enough for his son to be ready to take over. Belichick Dynasty

I can see it now in the future, Steve Belichick as the head coach on the sideline and a shot at BB behind the glass in a suit as a GM (Elway type role)

Dies? You’re talking about him like he’s a mortal. Silly

I voted 4-6 because it's clear he is loving everything about coaching right now. The team has solid veterans that work hard, play smart, and do all the things he asks of them. Spending time with his sons also seem to have added years to his desire to keep at the grind. All that said he is closing in on 70 and there will come a cold winter morning where he gets out of bed and everything hurts and he says to himself ugh I am getting too old for this ****. I don't know when that will be and I don't think even Bill knows when that morning will be, nor do I think that's the day he retires. However, that will be when he starts planning his exit and it could be next year, 3 years from now, or 10 years from now but it is coming.

TL;DR I have no idea. :)

I hope Shula is still alive when BB overtakes him but I don't think it'll take seven+ years.

It'll be like the scene in Braveheart when Long Shanks is on his deathbed and BB yells, "348!!!"

Shula sits up, shocked look on his face and dies peacefully......

With Bill at 299, for that to happen we need Shula to live until 94-95 years old.

Make it happen, Bill.

McDaniels is the strange wild card in all this at this point. Do you think he might be a lifer coordinator like that old D coordinator the Steelers had? It's not a bad gig.

But first Shula tosses his son heir out the tower windows

I’m thinking 4-5 years. The way it goes though, you never can be sure. Might be one might be ten

Did he chuck his son out of the window or his son's lover? It's been a while since I've seen it.

I think it was Shula's gandson- who is on McVay's staff that was talking crap before the SB. he can go too.

I believe that, before BB hangs it up, he'll want to overtake Shula as the winningest coach evah. Further incentive to stay in the game.

BB is one competitive sunofa*****- especially with his detractors.

as long as the Dolphins and Shula do not repeat all of Edward Longshanks requests... specifically:

According to chroniclers, Edward requested that his bones should be carried on Scottish campaigns

Edward I 'Longshanks' (r. 1272-1307)
