Schefter: Just based on the facts...Brady thinking/setting up to leave NE

I doubt Brady retires without a "farewell tour" so I expect it'll be a decision made before his last season starts. IMO that leaves only two possibilities for next year, he either stays in Foxboro or moves on and the best place to win a Lombardi is where he is now. I expect him to stay.

I don't think Brady even knows when he's going to retire, so I doubt he'll announce anything ahead of time...

I just can’t see Brady playing for another team in a different uniform. This late in his career I just hope the two sides work it out and he retires a one team man.

They will. Kraft will step in if need be...he wont let brady go anywhere

Let’s see Brady does leave. What team could he realistically want to go to?

Curran is plugged in with TB so this seems likely

Sounds like the most plausible explanation. Wouldn’t be shocked if Brady’s team is feeding Adam information to sow doubt within the Pats organization about returning. Help drive up the price for negotiations next year.

What is the big deal about all this? From some people’s reactions you’d think Schefter said their mother slept with a KC fan.

Sure, argue about whether you think he’s right or wrong and why.

But why the hell take it as some sort of personal affront? Makes no sense.

I much prefer the idea of my mother sleeping with a KC fan vs. the idea of Tom Brady leaving. And she might even do it, knowing that she is bringing joy to her son for one more season.

Because she loves me. Not because she’s a slut.

He has no choice. Belichick will threaten to leave if Kraft keeps Brady against his wishes. Even Kraft isn't this dumb.

He's on record saying 45 is the goal so if he's still playing at 44 I expect he'll announce 45 is his final year before the season starts. I doubt he wants to retire now but it could happen at any time over the next four years. I also doubt he'd want to retire like Gronk did. A farewell tour makes more sense for the GOAT.

The speculation is all about his "insulting" contract but if he wins another Lombardi this year all will be forgiven and he'll be back. The TB12 franchise will also lose some cred if he quits because his feelings were hurt LOL.

IMO of course.

I mentioned here a couple years ago (right before the Eagles Super Bowl) that a guy I know in Brady's circle told me that he wouldn't be surprised if Tom were to retire if he won 7. He emphasized that Tom had never told him anything other than his desire to play until he's 45, but that he always had a feeling that he would retire if he won his 7th. Take it for what it's worth.

Why would keeping Brady be against Belichicks wishes? Has the world gone mad?

The contract was for flexibility.

Sure, but Brady is also on record more recently saying he doesnt know what the future holds. People here are forgetting that Gisele is in his ear every day and that could change his thinking. He could play for another 3 years but he's also missing his kids grow up.

Nah, it’s just perspective on reading the tea leaves.

Really, people should put the tea down and have a Guinness or some other libation and enjoy the ride.

why?

because Brady is 43 and on decline maybe?

and who knows when the cliff comes.

I think it's totally reasonable to think that BB might want to move into a different direction next year.

Lol. Who is he going to find better than Brady?
What decline? Certainly not on the field as the team has the largest point differential ever.

I wonder how many Saints’ fans think that of Payton and Brees?
