Antonio Brown

When the rape lawsuit story broke, it was a whirlwind few days of coverage. During that time the Patriots players said all the right things, and from all written accounts, embraced Brown as a teammate. Belichick said it was a league issue in obvious Belichick fashion.

Then there was “a leak” that the Patriots wouldn’t have signed Brown if they’d known about the lawsuit. That may very well be true, but it had “my hands are clean” Bob written all over it. Trying to distance himself from everything and stay above the fray after his own embarrassing offseason shenanigans. Seems like a better idea just to STFU about the signing rather than throwing a new player under the bus because of allegations. It’s clear that the Massage Parlor King has his finger on the trigger and was just waiting to cut bait.

That's likely very true. And infact your speculation might prove accurate that the "leak" came from Kraft's camp about not knowing about AB's situation beforehand and how they wouldn't have signed him had they known. I doubt BB said that to anyone and anyone in BB's staff leaked it.

And if so, good for him. If I’m almost 80 and my wife is gone, I’m going to consider going to a similar place to get the “full body massage.

Is it fair to compare his case with the multiple accusations of sexual misconduct and rape, with a case of the national news spotlight blasting on his stupid attempt to threaten the victim? Personally, I don’t believe so.

We're talking about the fact that Kraft's personal legal issues, which are unrelated to the Pats personnel, team or performance, have somehow become intertwined with this personnel decision and clouded his judgment. He's sensitive about this topic and wanted to absolve the organization and himself of any blame. The fans, including myself, are upset because we believe Kraft exercised poor and short-sighted judgement in handling this matter.

AB needs to stop writing English papers and start catching passes from TB.

Jordan Richards is now aboard. He’ll be AB’s chaperone and communications director.

All is safe and sound to bring the best WR in the NFL back to Foxboro!

Welcome back, AB!

well said..bottom line is if Belichick wanted to keep him, you keep him. Yes, I realize Kraft is the owner...

#17 is back at Practice. Let the world go wild(for a brief moment). Same height as AB.

I agree as a septuagenarian, and my wife was gone, may consider the same thing. It is a very difficult thing to all of a sudden be alone devoid of human contact.. know a few men who when this happens their life completely changes and they do things they would never have thought of doing.. being old and alone is difficult.

The Bob Kraft thing is getting very tired...
Yep, I have no problem with him soliciting. He was dumb as hell to go to a strip mall to do it though. A guy with that much money should have a guy who takes care of stuff like this discreetly for him. Lesson learned I assume.

And yet people seem to be getting up for this thread.

Old men without wives can resort to Vietnamese ladies to trim their toenails and grandchildren for hugs. That’s what my dad does at least.

Let’s get off the high horse and call it what it was, which is an unmarried 80 year old man deciding to have some extra physical contact during his massage. In terms of “criminal activity,” this is pretty low on the list.

How this relates to a dumbass player drawing tons of negative attention to himself and the team by way of multiple sexual misconduct and rape charges is beyond me. How are you going to compare Bob Kraft getting some personal physical contact to a guy who’s obviously mentally ill, likely abusing women, and continuing to put himself above the team every single chance that he gets? That’s ridiculous.

Because Kraft felt guilty about his own mess and overreacted and kicked AB out unduly?

Let me put it another way. Why did Brady and BB want to keep AB? Are they idiots? Can’t they see all the negatives you posted?

Sooo...this is still a thing?

Since we acquired and stupidly cut AB

Demaryius Thomas - traded
Cameron Meredith - cut
Julian Edelman - Chest injury
Josh Gordon - finger and now foot injury
Gunner Oleszewski - hamstring injury

Top WR options now
Philip Dorsett
Jacobi Myers

Sure am glad we are not utilising a healthy AB we’re paying $9m for.

Prepare for more TB looking for Dorsett (double covered) on every pass. Hopefully this time the one time he looks at Myers won’t result in an endzone interception. I guess we’ll also get a dose of long bombs to Slater to keep defenses honest, which we always get when we have too many WR injuries.

Meanwhile Izzo and LaCosse are going to remain invisible in the passing game. And Michel will still face a stacked box since even if we get a good play action, who are we going to throw to anyway.

You’re viewing this situation like an episode of Dr. Phil. Just look at that first statement that you made. I think you’re doing a little reaching, here.

If Bob Kraft overreacted (or even feels “guilty” over paying a little more for extras during a massage), it’s quite possible that he viewed the severity of Brown’s antics and accusations to be on a totally different plane than what you’re suggesting.

It’s almost certain that he, and probably most people, view Brown’s multiple instances, along with potentially threatening, or at the very least creepy texts, and severity of the accusation of rape, to be much more serious than getting a BJ.

Ha now Gordon and Edelman are useless decoys. I’m sure one or most likely both won’t kill the Skins this Sunday. Pats will have to throw to only Dorsett and Meyers all game and the rest of the year.

Are you seriously a Pats fan because you certainly don’t sound like 1? Go root for Antonio’s team, oh yeah that’s right he doesn’t have one.

Edelman was a decoy last week

Gordon's foot got injured after the 4th game. His fingers were likely hampering him as well during the Bills game. He'll likely not play versus Redskins.

But you're right. I could be trolling here for a decade.
