Bills went out of their way to shut down Dorsett. Brady ended up 2 of 9 to Dorsett, and 3 of 7 to Gordon. Just a bad day all around.

The only thing that matters is that we won the game.

I'd argue some of the incompletion numbers are inflated because of throw aways. I can think of at least 3 Dorsett passes that were purposefully overthrown but got credited to him anyhow.

Wish whoever is in charge of stats would start cleaning incompletions up a bit by not counting _obvious_ throwaways.

Do you believe her accusation against him was person to person? No, it was the same thing, with lawyers attached to it, like a text message sent to the entire world.

Her complaint is weak. He came up to her wearing almost nothing (but not nothing.). She rebuffed him. He didn’t do anything beyond that. Welcome to the world of hanging out at single men’s houses.

Moved from post-game thread to here.

--

No lawyers attached to it. She never filed suit, never pressed charges. She simply shared her story with a journalist.

It was a relevant story given the initial suit. If your daughter was contracted to work in some guy's house and he approaches her in such a manner, would you dismiss her story as "weak" and simply single men being single men?

Probably not illegal, but it's absolutely slimy and skeezy, and not a way any of us would raise our real or hypothetical boys to behave, I sure would hope.

Regardless, Brown wasn't cut for the scantily clad advance. He was cut for texting this woman 48 hours after being explicitly told by the league not to do so.

Random thought: I wonder who, what, when will be the last post on this thread...when will everyone finally be completely exhausted of subject? Could this be the last one??? I predict it won’t “disappear” until 2020.
This won’t end until the Pats win the Super Bowl.

Hey Andy -- taking this over to the appropriate thread in lieu of the post-game thread. I didn't want to pile on the off-topic posts over there.

"There is nothing threatening about an investigation" -- I think (at times) that's a disagreeable statement but for the purposes of argument, okay, there's nothing threatening about an investigation, fine.

There is, however, something threatening about threatening an investigation.

In case it's not already extremely clear: there is not, and never will be an investigation by Brown's posse because they are not LEOs; they're his unprofessional, unqualified friends. The only purpose that text served was to convey the threat of an investigation that was never going to happen.

One's subjective interpretation of a threat as not being threatening to them (likely in a physical sense) does not mean the act in question is not a threat.

If a guy texted my totally hypothetical daughter, telling him that his friends were going to uncover dirt on her, and those friends were not LEOs, and in fact have a criminal record, you can be that I'm going to take that as a threat.

You can “take that as a threat” all you want. If I tell you that I’m going to respond to your post, that’s also “a threat.” There is no violence implied in this “threat.” It is not illegal to investigate someone or talk to their friends about their background. That’s exactly what Klemko did. Is what he did illegal too, or would it have been bad if he emailed Brown and told him he’s investigating him?

The texts were clearly an attempt to intimidate a possible witness. One point I've not seen brought up here yet is that the woman AB texted could have possibly been called as a witness to his rape civil trial. In fact, it's likely she would have. And so there was possible criminal liability there on AB's part.

In any event, when you send intimidating texts to a woman who has put out stories of sexual misconduct about you in the press, including photos of her children literally DAYS after a rape allegation was made by a different woman, you're traveling down a very dark path. The optics are horrible there and rightfully so.

You can't just parse the texts themselves and say "I see no threat", "AB should still be on the team". You have to take the combination of events that occurred leading up to that and including the fact he was apparently told beforehand not to text her.

Jesus dude...are you living in 1915? He made a pass at her without exposing himself, then that was the end of it. Guys do stuff like that all the time. A guy might take off his shirt or strip down to his underwear to impress/attract a woman, and sometimes it might even work. The fact is he didn’t assault her or even touch her in any way and that was the end of it. The fact you’re saying “probably” not illegal shows how far removed from reality you are. This world of online matchmaking has really turned people into believing in electronic signature consent to even attempt to hit on a woman.

I’d tell my daughter to communicate she’s really not interested in that and to leave if she’s uncomfortable. I would say this is a weak thing to whine to a reporter about, my daughter or not.

Pretty strong words for someone you don't know and are interacting with on a message board.

We can discuss things relevant to the content of our posts without speculating about each other personally, as we had to this point. But I digress.

Sharing a legitimate story that is relevant to current news isn't whining, in my opinion.

The incessant defending and deflecting of AB's actions is reaching joke level status. Anybody who thinks there would have been anything good that would have come from allowing him to stay on the team hasn't watched the Patriots for the past 20 years.

This won’t end until the Pats win the Super Bowl.

My bad....you’ve been respectful.

Well there is something threatening in me threatening to not talk to you but you are mistaking the literal definition of threatening with the legal definition.
I can threaten to hold my breath until I am blue on the face and I posed no threat to you just as I can say I am going to dig up dirt on you and pose no threat to you.

In case it's not already extremely clear: there is not, and never will be an investigation by Brown's posse because they are not LEOs;

Anyone can “dig up dirt”. One of the people in the text was his attorney.
If you publicly criticize me and my attorney and I tell you we think you lied and are blackmailing me so we are going to see what dirt we can dig up on you, we have done absolutely nothing wrong.

[quote{they're his unprofessional, unqualified friends. [/quote]

If that were true they could still dig up dirt, but it’s not because one was an attorney.

The only purpose that text served was to convey the threat of an investigation that was never going to happen.
That’s a huge stretch and an enormous assumption. But to what end would someone falsely threaten to dig up dirt? No one is going to be intimidated by a threat to dig up dirt and as I said many times he certainly can try to dig up dirt. At that point it was informing not threatening.

One's subjective interpretation of a threat as not being threatening to them (likely in a physical sense) does not mean the act in question is not a threat.
Unless there is by definition legally a threat then there is no threat. And yes a threat had to involve harm or damage in some way.

If a guy texted my totally hypothetical daughter, telling him that his friends were going to uncover dirt on her, and those friends were not LEOs, and in fact have a criminal record, you can be that I'm going to take that as a threat.
You can take it however you want but they are perfectly entitled to dig up dirt on her. And whether they have a criminal record is meaningless. You, being as liberal as they come, shock me by saying you will profile by criminal record

Saying they will dig up dirt is no more a legal threat than saying they will ignore her, smile at her, or any other non threatening behavior.

This is entirely an assumption.

It's not clear at all that the assertions you make are valid or self-evident.

have link to league telling AB not to contact the artist?

Agree with that. But it’s been reported multiple times now that all of BB, Brady and many Pats players were super happy with AB in team. Kraft took a business decision (sponsor threats) and pulled rank.
That's reading a hell of a lot into vague rumors by someone desperate to get his binky back.

And should they spoil us further
make it there
and lose?
They will be Back arguing
that dumping AB is why they lost.

If they never win again?
In 40 years, Shaughnessy's alcoholic
grandson will write the book
"Curse of the Clown"

But no matter what, it will be hard to out do
the story of the guy who was convinced
The Babe's piano had been dumped in some pond,
and the only way the Sox
would win is if he got it out of there

Not shocking. Brown's probably going to win a favorable settlement in any case, so I wouldn't get my hopes up about too much cap relief in league year 2020 anyways.

This is a huge Flub by Kraft.

Let's see what happens.

In the meantime & now that the "*rapper*" is out of NE, the MSM changed their tune about our organization... NOT! They are Laughing Their Ass** Of, and thinking where AB is landing next.

And then we have this... Nice...

On Monday, 09/16, the NFL instructed Brown to have no further contact with the two women in question.

On Wednesday, 09/18, Brown texted one of those two women.

You and others keep saying this, and yet not one of you have showed me any article/report saying he was told this BEFORE the texting. I will show you articles that came out telling him to stop after the last texting fiasco, no problem (9/20 - two days after - NFL told Antonio Brown to stop contacting second accuser). And I'm being genuine here - please show me where this was reported BEFORE the texts - I would LOVE to feel better about the decision to release him, that he did actually break a team/NFL rule about how to handle his private/out-of-court personal life, but I am not going to rewrite history to make myself feel better and suit my own agenda. Thanks in advance!

I googled it. Here you go.

I would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frickin pissed off if we have to pay AB $9m and he then is happy to take a vet min contract with Cowboys since he's already getting paid by us.

And I am also pissed off seeing all these media pundits talking about AB deserving another chance and talking about which team he'll land on.

And hearing Gilmore talk about how good a teammate AB was, after we already know Brady said that over and over, is also getting me upset.

ARGH

Once more for good measure. F*ck Kraft!
