The Patriots have receiver problems

Not gonna panic yet, It was a perfect storm for a poor Offensive outing.

-Ol struggling
-Edelman clearly not 100%, who knows if Gordon was still banged up
-Probably the best defense we will face all year, road playoff environment
-Brady may be banged up- not a good outing from him either
-Watson still suspended , harry on ir

Things will look better, we have time to iron stuff out.

Well apparently some people here think gordon is ok. The guy has to be more consistent. Dorsett as a number 3 is not good. He’s more of a 4th wideout.
But 6 rings

Yup they do.

The only guys that consistently get open vs a good defense are Edelman and White. The TE position is no viable threat and you cant game plan there anymore. Brady has no TE outlet because Gronk is selling CBD oil and the Patriots failed to address TE in the draft. Gordon has been a major disappointment. What is he? Not a deep threat. Not a guy who can get open when you watch the Pats scheme with a borderline pick play to finally get Gordon involved in the passing game. Dorsett is a #3 WR. Can you count on him when Brady is under attack? Maybe yes and maybe no.

Sony is not catching many passes that I see. Meyers? Burkhead? Bolden? The cupboards have 1 box of Mac n Cheese left.

The Pats receiving options are nothing special at all with the exception of Edelman. It explains why Brady was so excited to bring a cancer like AB aboard because he can at least get open and catch.
I keep hearing about the Pats receiver problem. Izzo, Meyers, Michel, Johnson are labelled terrible. First, how often are they targeted. Almost never from what I can see. If they are option 4 & 5 in a play where the QB is rushed that is not on them. Michel is never thrown to. I don't watch the all 22 so I can't tell if they are ever #1 or 2 on any given play but it doesn't look it to me. Burkhead was only a decoy yesterday. Buffalo did a good job on Edelmand and White. Gordon ??? Dorsett thrown at in questionable coverage. TB is great, but yesterday, he was off target, rushed his throws, and couldn't wait to throw it away. I give him a bad day. He always brings us back. BUT, this team repeatedly talks about making it work with what you have. The OL is a problem but considering the impact of the center and tackle injuries they are doing as well as can be expected with hope for improvement. It's time to start doing their job and that starts with McDaniel and Brady. Quit whining about new receivers.

To paraphrase Rick Pitino: N'Keal Harry is walking through that door.

Brady was just pretty open about the fact he doesn’t trust young receivers. Doesn’t make me optimistic Harry will come off IR.
Bad look Brady

Sure could have used that Antonio Brown guy...

Not sure how AB would help when Brady has to throw the ball into the dirt immediately because the OL can't block?

Maybe include the Bill's DL on some threatening group texts?

We have an OL problem.

I saw Dorsett separating a few times they showed him run his route. That double move which he got a PI for he beat his guy. Could have been a TD if Brady lead him.

On the INT Gordon fought off his man and was actually open for a fade.

Several other instances where Brady could have hit guys but was rushed to make throws or was hearing footsteps. He was rushing everything. Timing was all off.

This!

Brady's clock had 1.3 seconds on it yesterday from snap to throw.

When the Bills realized it, it was even worse because they then began crowding the short areas of the field and flooding the zones for screens.

At that point, the offense was lost. I supposed Brady could've begged the linemen and said, give me 3 seconds just this once so we can go long! But--it was not to be.

Rookie WR A.J. Brown had 94 yards for the Titans yesterday I really like him for us.

Well, yeah. They wouldn’t have signed Brown in the first place if that weren’t true. They’re one Edelman injury or Gordon injury/suspension away from being very mortal on offense. And neither of them has shown they can consistently stay on the field year after year. But they also have a quarterback who is clearly playing injured behind an OL that is very banged up and is getting pushed around a bit. Not exactly a recipe for a potent offense.

Total receptions:
Dorsett and Gordon, 5
Patriots D, 4.

Total receiving yardage:

Rookie TE Dawson Knox of the Bills>Gordon + Dorsett.

Yeah that Dawson Knox looking like a Steal in the Third Great value.

Yeah right, all problems in the universe are solved by getting another WR. This thread is pitiful. You all sound like whiny millennial fantasy football players who's team just lost by one point because you played this guy instead of that one.

So after 3 games of good stats and 3 TD's, Dorsett suddenly becomes an idiot after one game where EVERYBODY on offense sucked There a LOTS of reasons why the offense didn't work yesterday and we will find in the next coming weeks that MOST of them didn't involve the WR's, because over the next few weeks the offense will become better and this unsightly panic will abate.....hopefully.

The receiver & Tom have flashed many games this season, and at other time have been non-existent. Part of it is injuries. Edelman and Gordon are not physically well. Some of it is the Oline crumbling left and right. Too many times yesterday I watched Mason get thrown back like a rag doll. Other times it’s scheme and familiarity. I’m not worried yet. If this is what we are watching come November though? Come look for me on the ledge.

We have Harry and Meredith waiting to come in.

Emanuel Sanders is the answer to our problems though.

Harry is unproven and Meredith has barely played in the past 2 years

Neither guy has much (if any) experience with the system or with Brady

Seem like 2020 options more than 2019 upgrades. Even if Harry comes off IR or Meredith comes off PUP (neither is a guarantee to even play this year at all)

Yesterday was a brutal game for the offence.

Started with the o-line. Seemed every play design was broken up almost immediately because the line was about as bad as we’ve seen. Really ugly.

Then we had the Bills collapsing their D close to the line. This worked out great for them. Extra men in the box and we couldn’t run and more defenders in the short areas and Brady couldn’t hit his quick outlets.

Edelman wasn’t himself. That was obvious. Gordon isn’t a guy who gets much separation. He’s a big body with good hands but always has a guy close on him. Doesn’t always make for an easy throw. Dorsett is a good number 3. The issue we have with our WRs is we don’t have that one guy who teams are afraid of and would have to respect with safety help. Allows them to do what they did yesterday and cloud the short areas.
