Bringing Brown to NE was not the right move. As excited as we all were, it just never felt like it was going to work out. Cutting ties with him after more stuff kept piling up seems like the right decision, at least in my opinion.

Disagree with team not doing its diligence. There is no way they could have known about the pending suit absent Brown telling them. And if Brown was in confidential settlement negotiations he was not allowed to tell them.

NE could have found out about the lawsuits/unpaid debts Klemko did. But even if they did, I expect they rightly viewed them as small potatoes.

This might be wrong, but I think he could reveal the contents of settlement privileged communications to the Patriots. Could potentially fall under common-interest privilege (can share privileged communications/information with a counter party to a deal without waiving privilege, i.e. the parties to his Pats contract). Haven't actually looked at the law on this that closely though. Might be limited to solicitor-client communications.

I mean I suppose we can agree that Rosenhaus most probably had to know, right ? So he could have at least mentioned that there are negotiations about a civil suit going on without giving any details.
