Gotta go with OBI, for no other reason the Pats are paying him as though he is on the roster currently... unless they go with a one week rental of Jakob...

Not sure that I am concerned about the offensive "weapons"...

At first this was a questionable move, then it moved the needle to a bad move and ended with a horrible move and release.

From where I sit this was a standoff between the Pats and the NFL, who was going to make a move first, the Pats had no choice as AB's presence presented a huge stink around the Pats..

It seems as though AB had no boundaries and thought he was above the rules of the NFL... he was none of that, he is a predatory creep who sooner or later will be charged with some sort of sexual criminal activity..

The texts were a deal breaker, anyone with common sense knows in this litigious age that you do not cajole, threaten or try to intimidate anyone on social media as the internet never forgets..

The Pats should have made the move after the second set of allegations rolled in..

He is no Randy Moss, Corey Dillon or any of the other "questionable players" we have seen in the past 20 years he is a predator with no conscience...

I cannot conceive how any one could possibly defend him based on what we know.. imagine what we do not???

What a wild season and it is only september...

For a me it wasn't a matter of defending him but more of a matter of he remain eligible without violating team and NFL rules and laws in the process.

We can debate if his texts were harassment but he messed up.

Pretty simple. Brown got another chance in NE, a clean slate. They welcomed him, the GOAT offered him a home, they gave him early, easy targets in the Miami game, and he pissed it all away with his stupid, menacing IG post. He became a big distraction and now he’s gone. They’re on to the Jets.

Couldn't handle the media pressure. Did KC cave? Nope, they gave their reprobate an extension. Good job Bobby Kraft. Getting owned by ESPN and the globe editorial board.

The Patriots didn’t cave regarding unproven rape allegations despite pressure. They did the right thing and released him when, with all the **** that was transpiring, he sent text messages to another woman that abominably included pictures of her KIDS with implications he was going after her for whistle blowing (though she really didn’t even ask for anything other than her mural payment...the sexual misconduct wasn’t even offered for any financial gain). He went beyond the pale and deserves to be cut. His attitude was also disgusting in talking about her like she’s a POS because of her financial status and that she has three kids. This is a guy who has multiple kids with different women.

It was the right thing to do. I was all on board with keeping him as an innocent until proven guilty standard. I’m not on board with keeping someone with such disgusting tactics and morals. I’m glad they cut him. Most of us were okay with having a deadbeat, but this is an different kind of deadbeat. Cut your losses and move on.

I can take this to the gas station with 10 bucks and get 10 bucks worth of gas

The most interesting thing to me in all this is that there's all the proof in the world that he was like this with the Steelers and it was kept well under wraps. I'm not saying it's a league conspiracy at all, but rather that the Steelers have way more interest in protecting their scumbags than most teams; KC excluded.

Still...CTE...that's the name of the game in all this. Said it when he was a Steeler, said it when he was a Raider, a Pat, and now. He needs professional medical help.

Well put.

The Patriots were the ONLY team of his 3 that cut him for him breaking their rules. The other 2 bended their knees and prayed he would show up on Sunday.

And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is what separates a championship dynasty from a very talented (no team was more talented than Pittsbugh the last decade), but underperforming loser team. Tomlin chose to enable him. And that cost their franchise Super Bowl while the ringless wonder was there..

Anyone who doesn't pay for services provide is a scumbag. Yes, I would love to have had TB12 throwing passes to this guy, but I hate everything about AB.

I saw a report yesterday that Obi Melifonwu wasn’t seen at Friday’s practice. Being on the practice squad, he would not have to be listed on the injury report, so that’s one possibility.

Also, if we hadn’t been preoccupied with Mr. Big Chest for the last couple of weeks, this board would be a buzz with speculation regarding Shilique Calhoun who’s missed practice for “non injury “ reasons all week. It will be interesting to hear what’s up with that.

****TRIGGER WARNING*****

****THIS POST IS MILDLY CRITICAL OF BRADY AND BELICHIK****

Such a weird chapter in BB/Brady Patriots era.

It appears Brady's and BB's football desire to have a Cadillac WR blinded them to the obvious character major character flaws in A/B.

It's hard to believe that Brady and BB felt there was a chance that A/B would magically give up on his off the field BS and focus on football as his number one priority and that team's identity wouldn't be sullied by the 24/7 A/B media circus.

Both Brady and BB should feel some embarrassment over this because embracing a scumbag person like A/B because of his football talents does call into question their priorities and diminishes the notion of "the Patriot way".

Before people jump down my throat over a perceived expectation that football players be choir boys, that's not my point. Its that they were willing to turn a blind eye to A/B's clearly established pattern of ***hole behavior, that in the best case scenario would always be an off the field distraction for the team. Embracing A/B was just bad karma in my opinion and I think a lot of fans had a hard time rooting for him.

But I give credit to BB for moving on and structuring the contract carefully so as not to take a major cap hit.

Stupid post. They gave him the chance and he blew it. He’s a malignant narcissist, he’s never going to change, and the sh.tshow will always follow him. Anyone who wanted them to keep him after those texts came out is an idiot.

Oops, a repost.

There's no debate. His texts were harrassment.

What possible context would it be ok for Antonio Brown to put up pictures of that artist's children in a group text where he is imploring several recipients to have her investigated?

He texted to the group (including the artist and his lawyer among others) "....let's look up her background history...."

One of the group texts back: "Yes sir we will do that" and "You send me her info bro"

To which he sends a pic of her children "Those her kids and ig she's awfully broke clearly"

It is what it is.

IMO, his texts were no more than what goes on here or other forums, someone says something personally offensive in a post and the offended person retaliates. Brown was getting skewered by the press so he retaliated via text to the person who outed him.

so AB assistants have to call him sir? lol

Wonder if I'll ever get an acknowledgement from forums poster AndyJohnson that he was wrong about the "conduct detrimental" clause in the contraaahahaha never mind we all know that's not happening
