It really was just a question of time.

Brady and Gordon don’t seem too happy
something tells me this won't affect their desire to win games. Brady has some cred to be whatever, but Gordon has some proving of himself still ahead of him.

Can this be end?
I didn’t think so.

They’ve also been here long enough to know this is a business and players get released all the time. I’m sure they were upset to lose some teammates on cutdown day.

they liked him big deal. The people in charge decided he was a problem. Done.

Seems more likely that they learned he was going to be on the exempt list and that recouping the money while they could made more sense than having a guy on paid leave for possibly the entire year. It's entirely possible that, if that was the case, they re-sign him if the civil case resolves later in the season, though likely to a smaller contract. The social media posts don't suggest bad blood, so it may be entirely a business decision.

I'm starting to think the Pats got wind of him ending up on the exempt list anyways. We were going to lose him no matter what so they were like ok we'll release him due to conduct and try and get our money back.
Interesting thought. I know Brown would still get paid, but does the team with a player on the exempt list still have his salary go against the cap?

Beyond that, maybe the ghost of Myra Kraft visited Bob in his sleep and he felt bad. Who knows.

End of the day, it's disappointing. Seeing Brown in that offense would have been a lot of fun. In another way, the controversy was irritating to me, so I'll be glad it's gone. (Is that allowed? Can we be middle of the road about all this?)

Surprised Rosenhaus hasn’t cut ties. He’s like BoJack for Princess Carolina at this point @luuked

Jakob Johnson

Interesting. Not many offensive players to choose from on the practice squad. Isn't he exempt or something ?

And who did she have a contract with where she wasn't allowed to exhibit such behavior?

How so? She just got done trashing him and his character in a National magazine article. He sent texts. Texts. She doesn’t have to read the texts.

Yep on Jakobi!

Thought he looked faster than develin.

I'm a little surprised that the reaction to these newest texts on the Board seems to be: "there must have been something more". As you say, the texts were not only clearly threatening her, they were very clearly threatening her kids...

Given what's been posted here all day there are those of us on this board that find your conclusions a bit surprising. To many of us the threat was clear as mud and nowhere in them can any reasonable person draw a conclusion that her children were being threatened. He lashed out at her like the mental midget he is. It put the Patriots in a very poor light, particularly since they were unaware of the pending lawsuit when he was signed he was obviously in a zero tolerance situation. New England built him a bridge he knew he did not merit yet it took him less than two weeks to set fire to it. The team acted in the best interest of it's brand in releasing him.

It's called "spin." The point is, you don't contact the accuser under any circumstance.

The lawyer's job is to make the client understand the following:

I know you're angry. Anyone who would subject someone to a criminal investigation for mere personal profit is pure garbage. Whatever emotional connection you had with this person is now severed and she's not worth a moment of your time hereafter. No good will come from further contact with her. If you don't follow my advice you're screwed.
Huh? This person did not file any charges, criminal or civil against. She simply was quoted saying very negative things about him in an article.

I mean Brown lost Rosenhaus so much money with his behaviour. Crazy situation.
