Antonio Brown

Has to be more to the story that hasn't been made public. Nothing I've seen so far I think would warrant a release.

d%#*!@t. There goes 19-0. When is Harry back?

So right now our wide receivers are gordon, Edelman, dorsett. Who else?

I still stand behind having taken a chance on him initially. It was when all the additional **** came out that the signing became regrettable.

Regardless of what actually happened with some of this stuff he was a huge distraction and it was just getting worse by the day.

does this change anything?
1) If he contacts her again he's gonna be suspended for sure (and maybe cut)
2) This really gives Goodell a wide-open door to suspend him.

Actually, I think if it were earlier in the week he would be suspended tomorrow. But with it so close to the game I think the NFL will do nothing for the weekend. However, I will not be remotely surprised to find out sometime Monday that Goodell has placed Brown on the exempt list.

There's probably something else that's not yet been made public. The texts shouldn't have been something that was enough to get to this point.
Exept that the texts if I'm reading the scenario right were a criminal act. Harrassment is a crime.

It was one of the things we were all worried about with him. If he could not or would not keep a level head and focus on football, he was gone. We all said it. He wouldn't leave the woman alone and started stalking her online. That's enough to cut him.

Well, it sounds like they caught him harrassing his accuser and cut him for that. All fair. That's a crime and they had proof.

We all knew this was a possibility.

The real winner here IMHO is Meyers and Dorsett who should see the field a lot more.

personally I'd rather feed Dorsett than an idiot like Brown. Talk about throwing away an entire career and tens of millions of dollars. What a loser.

I don't even know if it's WHAT he did, but the fact that he did it as a member of the Patriots.

Oh, and in case anyone's keeping score - this is one screw up and gone.

I trust Belichick et al quite a lot when it comes to personnel acquisition but I think they missed the mark here.

A bit more vetting and research prior to acquiring Brown may have uncovered some of these issues and they may not have pulled the trigger. Somewhere in Oakland someone is laughing right now, and rightfully so.

Bummer. I wanted to see him succeed here -- he's the perfect Patriot WR, but clearly has a lot of personal issues he's dealing with. With his recent behavior and the 5m signing bonus looming this was inevitable.

I'm slightly concerned about another team scooping him up, be it Philly, KC, etc., but in light of recent events I suspect he won't be signed for awhile. Also could affect the Ramsey to KC dynamic, now that they have one fewer receiver to cover when they play us. Who knows.

Also have to wonder about the DT situation, and if he'd still be on the team had we not signed Brown. Hard to know, but the fact that he's not playing this weekend takes the sting out a bit.

Glad we can move forward with the players we have. Here's to Harry getting healthy and Gordon shining. An end-of-season WR grouping of Gordon-Edelman-Harry-Dorsett, with Meyers/Gunner in a pinch is sufficient IMO. We also can't forget about Meredith coming off PUP; that guy has some real potential.

Or maybe it was everything put together, maybe they told him to put a sock in it, then that story comes out at 2 am last night and that was it for them.

Sure, but that would make BB's presser comment a bit odd. I'm trying to piece things together in a way that makes a fit.

Bwaahahahaha!

Regards,
Chris

Hope he doesn’t go to KC. I really wanted this to work out but, this is the right move. If he can’t shut his mouth and listen, we can’t trust him to stay in line ever. He could have a melt down during the Super Bowl.

Was it the #17 again?

Now what do we talk about.... post patterns?

It sounds like the Patriots and league specifically told him to be quiet and stay out of the news (probably after the interview on Monday with the tacit understanding that if he did, he would be allowed to play by the league and team) and he couldn't help himself. My guess is the circus will keep rolling on for this guy. It was fun while it lasted, I guess. Looking forward to the N'Keal Harry show in a few weeks!
