I agree, not sure why anyone would try to defend AB's behavior. Just because he's on the Pats now?...shallow

I don't see a reason to defend his behavior or any other NFL player's behavior. We aren't friends with any of these guys nor do we know them personally.

I couldn't care less if he's an ass**** or a model citizen. As long as he helps the patriots win football games. He can do whatever he wants in his free time and people can think whatever they want about his character. Doesn't bother me a lick.

It doesn't, but he shouldn't be rewarded for ****ting on people in general and for being a cancer to society.
Well he isn't being rewarded, just doing his job...

If the Patriots weren't told (non-disclosure), they could have gotten rid of him already. So, why is he still on the team?

My point is that they want a ruling from the nfl. I think it’s all bs but they just want an answer from goodell.

If they want to cut Brown, and get out of paying the money, they just have to assert non-disclosure (and win that argument, naturally) as the reason. So what does a ruling on the civil case have to do with it?

It has nothing to do with it. Frankly i am glad they’re not jumping the gun here.

I hope this woman doesn’t get a cent but she might idk.

Curran, on WEEI:

"If these were criminal charges, he wouldn't be here."

Also, 2 of the claims are outside the statute of limitations, according to the police and prosecutors, which means that there can only be a criminal proceeding on that 3rd claim (the rape claim).

So, there it is.

Edit: There seems to be confusion about which charges are out of the SOL. I'm now hearing reports that it's only 1 charge, not 2, that have been found to be in that situation. Whichever it may be, the rest of the post doesn't change.

AB would be better off admitting to the possible rape, if he admits to it, then he’ll take a small fine and we can move on. By denying it, he made it a big deal. I think this is how this works in the NFL, right?

This is a joke btw not serious

Are you kidding me? Really? He’s gonna declare his innocence. This woman has to prove she was raped forcibly and she has already lied about the nature of their relationship. He has always stated it was consensual.

Brown clearly would never play football again if he admitted to a rape allegation.

Edit: didn't see the sarcasm...

I find myself reacting differently than you are. The contrast between my excitement for Gordon to do well, and lack of it for Brown, is stark. I don't root for players and teams that remind me of the destructive, narcissistic aspects of human behavior and society. I deal with that enough in my work life, and follow sports teams to get away from all that. So, when a guy like Brown is wearing a Pats uniform, it interferes with compartmentalization of sports in my brain.

This is a joke on deflategate lol.

In professional sports, there are no teams for you to follow, then.

So unless any new developments come to light Brown is in the clear. So far he’s kept his mouth shut. This could work..

Ultimately depends on what result Goodell has in mind. They always seem to find a way to get the result they want.
