Another great win, but I am not getting too high at this point as there is a lot of football to be played. Should be interesting if Darnold can make it back for this one (has he been ruled out?). However, even if he does, 2 weeks of mono means no practice for him. Pats should win this one handily.

Hopefully, Wynn will be back, but if not, we definitely need him for a tougher Bills defense in week 4.

I briefly saw the “hopefully Wynn will be back” and got excited that perhaps you knew or heard something. Then I went up and read what you wrote about Darnild and realized you didn’t.

Not quite. For Monday night: C.J. Mosley, their best LB, is out, Levon Belch is questionable with a shoulder, Demaryius Thomas is questionable with a hamstring, rookie DT Quinine Moron is out with an ankle, WR Enunwa is out for the year ... Some others also are questionable including DL McLendon, WR Berrios, LT Beachum PLUS two guards. The putrid Jete not only suck, they also are banged up and will be coming to Foxboro on a short week.

And I’m rooting for them tonight against the Fakes on the Lake. I don’t think they have a snowballs chance in hell but Cleveland is insufferable and I’m sick of the “AFC East” is why the Patriots have always had an easy road argument. It’s bulljit - I saw some stat that the Pats have a better non-divisional record than divisional over the past two decades.

I'll try to go into a little more detail on the Jest from what I understand about them. Some of this may be wrong.

QB - Siemian has a tiny bit of experience but didn't impress much in Denver. He likely won't impress much in this game.

OL - The unit last year wasn't good and this one doesn't look much better. Beachum, Snell and Winters return with 2 of them nursing injuries (Beachum and Winters). Ryan Kalil at center is certainly an upgrade but at 34 you have to wonder how much of one. Osemele signed a huge contract with the Raiders. They traded him this year to upgrade a 6th round pick to a 5th round pick. Clearly they felt he wasn't playing up to his contract or just didn't fit. However, if he was doing better i'm sure they could have gotten more value. This will be a very interesting unit to watch. For what it's worth PFF hasn't like Kalil much the last few years or Osemele much last year (before that they graded him as consistently good though. Maybe just a down year/injury?)

WR - Anderson is okay. Thomas might be good to go but will not be 100% up to speed yet in any case even if fully healthy. Crowder is a good #3 or very very bad #2. Not a scary core but they could have 3 or so competent NFL quality players. Not too shabby.

TE - Nothing here to be concerned about.

RB - Bell looks pretty good. That time off didn't hurt him. While he has had good games vs the Pats they haven't let him beat them IMO. That won't change behind an OL inferior to the Steelers. They have done well at stopping RBs from catching. Bell will be their hardest test by far this year. They also have good depth and options behind him. A deep position with a true headliner.

DL - Pretty damn good. Q. Williams had a nice first game but he is banged up right now. L. Williams assuming nothing happens tonight should be good to go. Anderson is very underrated. When all 3 are healthy they could be a big problem. Even with just 2 they should be very solid here.

EDGE - Without Mosley this unit is bad. Even with him the pressure they generate isn't impressive.

LB - Overall a subpar unit. Particularly if Mosley isn't healthy. I think he's overrated anyway.

CB - They had big issues here last year and they didn't do anything to improve it. They cut some guys who stunk but their starters are guys who were on the team last year still. Johnson is okay as a starter but massively overpaid. Roberts is meh. Poole is new but also meh.

S - Adams is a beast of a player. Nuff said. Marcus Maye was good last year and is off to another good start. I'm not sure how much is him benefiting from Adams or his own personal play.

A New HC could make things worse or better. We have to wait in see.

This looks to be a straight forward match up. Trust your CBs to stop these meh WRs. Keep an eye on Bell. Exploit the QB, which will be made easier by exploiting a suspect/gimpy OL. On Offense challenge their CBs but stay clear of their safeties, particularly Adams. When you run it's best to run outside in space most likely. The Pats should pick on their LBs with White and Burkhead. The very top and LOS of their D is good. Attack the sides and middle and they should have success.

Wait 'til they log at least eight losses, then it's OK to hope they play spoiler against other teams to the Patriots' advantage and their draft position disadvantage. As for the AFC East "easy road" argument, the Pats rarely sweep the division and you make the only point necessary by pointing out their better non-divisional record.

He has/had mono. There is no medical way he can get cleared for the game.

Mono is F'd up! Even when the other serious symptoms subside(like brutal flu symptoms), 7-11 coca cola flavored slurpees and all liquid soups, cooled, is about the only thing could get down you for another week. I'm sure everyone has differences in affects but if this is similar for him, I'd assume, once up and eating regular food, that in itself took several weeks to feel at full strength/normal.
