Any point in going to Gillette outside game day?

I’m in the area for something else and was considering stopping by the stadium on the way home. I’m not sure if there’s any point in doing so on a Wednesday afternoon though; looks like HoF is only open on game days? Is there anything for a Pats fan to do there (besides shop) when there’s no game?

Thanks for any ideas.

eat, drink, bowl, movies..........

HoF is open on non-game days. Not sure where you are getting that from. It’s only closed 3 days a year and when it’s booked for a private event.

Ah, ok, thanks. There was a web site saying it was only open before a game.

I never been but i would stop for sure if im passing , take some photos at the least.

Patriot Place is pretty cool. You get good sightlines into the stadium. HOF is worth a visit and there are lots of good places to eat. CBS Scene or club or whatever they call it is a good sports bar, especially if there's something on you want to see. Definitely not a bad take.

HOF, pro shop, couple places to eat. It's not bad to kill a little time.

Also, if you have kids it's worth stopping by the BASS PRO SHOP that is part of Patriots Place too?

My dad told me about it, and I was like "Why would I go there? I am the opposite of a fisherman" but it's fun for the kids......they have....

1.) A fun, laser gun target practice game (bring dollar bills)
2.) A really big fish tank that is fun to look at
3.) Another section of the tank with turtles

I wouldn't go out of my way to go JUST for the BASS PRO shop, but if you are in the area it's worth stopping by.

You can buy a boat at Bass Pro shop.

Definitely stop by! The Hall is open (you may have been reading about game days only - on game days The Hall is open before games, but not after) and so is the massive Pro Shop. Plus, just the views of the stadium are awesome, and there are plenty of places to eat, drink and be merry!

BB can usually be found hanging around Patriot Place after practice, he will gladly sit down with you and discuss the upcoming game plan and take your suggestions as to the draft and plays you think the Pats should run:D

I learned that they closed Toby Keith's place for renovations or something new. Anyone have any information about it? Can honestly say that I was never that impressed with it.

Keep an eye on AB.

Tobey Keith's closed down abruptly a few months ago. I think something else is going in there. I like both Skip Jack's (seafood) and Tavolino (Italian), and Davio's is good too. I have never been to Bar Louie, but several posters on here swear by it for early game day.

Thank you young lady..

There's nothing at Patriot Place that you can't find anywhere else other than the HOF (or at least find very similar). The HOF is awesome; wonder if they've updated the movie to include last 2 SB....last time I was there was quite some time after the Atlanta SB win and movie had not been updated...

The video dept can't keep up with the pace of the Pats' winning.

Not a huge fan of all the chains over at PP, but the HOF is wonderful, and the pro shop is pretty good (despite some high prices). The Movie theater is good, and the music venue is great unsure if still open (think it is called Showcase Live). Worth walking around for sure, and walking down the light house end near the HOF entrance to look into the stadium, or seeing it from the open deck at PP near lighthouse.

Well, I am going to be there this weekend. I need some down time and decided to heck with it, I'm driving down to Gillette. I booked 3 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn, with a nice room where I can relax, do some writing I need to finish up, watch some videos, listen to music, and generally just lounge around. The room has a nice flat screen so I can watch the Miami game, plus a small fridge I plan to stock, and a microwave for popcorn and snackage.

Plus, of course, there's the HOF, the Pro Shop, and other stuff to window shop and various food places to check out.

I have never been to Gillette, so I figured that this would be a good place to relax, site see, and generally get away from all the family drama and issues at home. :)

I will try and get some decent pics and post an AAR once I get back home.

You will love the HOF. allow AT LEAST 1 hour or more if you're relaxed. Lots to see.
