I want to bet AB gets benched in the super bowl

I think this writer perfectly captures the view from the sane side of haterville: pure exasperation. The fact that the same team has represented the AFC in the Superbowl 50% of the time for the past 18 freaking years is just too much, and now this? Yes, respect and all that. Yes, deflategate was nonsense. But come on. :)

This is why everyone hates you, New England
There was this piece from The Onion a long time ago which wound up being prophetic to an extent. I’m sure how I felt about the Yankees at that time is how everyone feels about the Patriots now.

I vote no. You could write him in as a ST more than a WR. I say we trade Dorsett to the Raiders for a 5th. They need WR help.

What has Dorsett done to you that's so bad you'd want to ship him off to the Raiders at this point?

He will be benched during xiv

Pretty sure they won’t release anyone until they have to. My understanding is he won’t count until Monday, so my guess is Monday someone will be released. Therefore, anyone saying so and so will be released is guessing.

I don't have inside knowledge on this, but the following makes the most sense:

Brown/Bodine in
Gunner/Ferentz out

One thing about this season is that we shouldn't see the usual bottom of the roster churning following this game, because the team is (at least allegedly) stacked from top to bottom. Other than making a decision on Kendricks, and the two above in this post, is there really any other spot on the 53 where there needs to be either a change or decision?

That’s cool. Every time I’m at PVD (which is basically always) I see this bad boy and take a pic of it. This was from Monday. Hopefully he caught a glimpse of it.

Why are we giving any credence to anything Mort says ?

Why? Because as Patriots fans, we have to hope and trust that this particular report is 100% correct.

Mort didn't actually allege tampering , just planning on Brown's part. Surely we WANT to believe that Brown acted deliberately and strategically to get out of a contract he'd come to regret? The alternative is that the Pats just signed a mentally unstable player.

Looks like we finally figured out how to replace Braxton Berrios.

Ah Millennials. What to to do with them. Sometimes when I take my walk I wonder about the moral dilemma of what to do if I see one who is staring at his phone while walking directly toward a lamp post. Do I warn him, or laugh hysterically when he rams into it.

These are the time we live in, my friend. ;)

A psychology professor on my campus has received numerous research grants and published numerous papers where his research has demonstrated that students staring at their smart phone are distracted and more likely to be hit by a car at intersections. ;) This would seem to be a bit of a no-brainer but I guess his experiments proving that smart phone distract people might help to eventually motivate the development of technology and/or legislation to address the problem of smart phone texting while driving (which in my opinion has become a much bigger problem than driving under the influence).

If Brown wanted out, of course he wanted to speed it up so he could hook up with a new team before the season started. With no guarantees in Oakland anymore, the last thing he wanted to do is risk injury without getting a new deal.

There is nothing to suggest this had anything to do with the Pats.

Please please please let there be language in Clowntonio's contract that gives the Pats the ability to escape from it with ZERO cap hit When (not If) this psycho scumbag becomes cancer in their locker room, just as he's been Everywhere Else.

Thank you for providing an example of one of the (Many) things wrong with colleges & universities today.

"psycho scumbag".

Harsh words for someone you don't know personally, Captain.

Thank you for providing an example of one of the (Many) things wrong with colleges & universities today.

Why is research relevant to issues that exist in modern-day society wrong?

This research could give us insights about human behavior. A small drop in the bucket, but still relevant and potentially impactful and important nonetheless.

From Boston.com:

“He wants to win a Super Bowl,” Rosenhaus said. “It’s a great opportunity for him to sign with a team that has dominated the football league for the past decade. It’s a dynasty. The future is now for Antonio. This is an opportunity for him to do something that he hasn’t been able to do in his illustrious career, which is win a championship. That’s what he’s looking forward to. That’s immediately the goal. That’s all he’s thinking about right now.”

Just hope this is true....
Looks like you were wrong @AndyJohnson he did want to go to a contender.

If you mean research that appears on the surface to be a waste of time and/or money, normally if you look deeper into the research there are actually clear reasons why it is relevant, if that wasn't the case, grant funding reviewers would never give the grant proposal a high enough "impact" score.

....However, I agree that showing that people looking at their cell phones are more distracted and more likely to be hit by cars is kind of a borderline case, it seems a bit obvious to me also. ;)

Looks like you were wrong @AndyJohnson he did want to go to a contender.

I also hope very much it is true, that would be amazing. However, if you look at Rosenhaus's history (e.g., with Terrell Owens) while he may be a strong advocate for his clients he isn't someone who is fanatically concerned with telling the exact truth all of the time.

Sources: AB eyed advice to expedite Raiders exit

My favorite thing about this story is that the Pats apparently offered a first rounder for Brown and the Steelers were so butthurt about the idea of him on the Pats that they took a 3rd and a 5th from Oakland instead... and then he still ended up on the Pats

As we all know from this last week, the CBA contract contains the language you want.

A player can be fined for conduct unbecoming (presumably after more than one incident). At that point, all guarantees are gone.

Please please please let there be language in Clowntonio's contract that gives the Pats the ability to escape from it with ZERO cap hit When (not If) this psycho scumbag becomes cancer in their locker room, just as he's been Everywhere Else.
