Antonio Brown

On the surface I don't like this. But...if BB had a heartfelt conversation with AB and there was a lot of humble communication then maybe I am just out of the loop at the moment and will learn to like the acquisition.

Btw.. any Moss comparisons are nonsense. Moss is a decent, humble guy. Joe Buck and Packers fans were the ones out of line. Brown comes off like a total diva at the moment, just the truth.

No one is perfect, but I only welcome Brown if he has an open mind about growing and improving like the rest of us. I don't accept nonsense from my football team.

LFG go get #7 F'n dominate

People can't properly judge risk.

AB plays like AB has for the last 5 years and it's the deal of the decade.

AB fails for whatever reason, they just cut him with 0 future salary cap implications. He makes a few bucks, but who cares because it has no future effect on the team. There's no substantive loss there.

It's almost zero downside and almost infinite upside, it's an insanely smart gamble.

Before we all get ahead of ourselves. does anyone know what system the Steelers run? I am assuming its not Erhardt-Perkins. That's the big "what if?": can Brown pick up the Patriots offense and lingo quickly?

I went from seeing brown was released by the raiders on the nfl net :)at around 3pm while on a plane. The plane lands and while im standing in the airport at salt lake city two hours later i read that he signs with the pats....un freaking real. Im sure th sht has hit the fan as far as the rest of the league goes. Must be a big conspiracy

The GOATs (TB12 and BB) are the gifts that keep on giving.

According to ProFootballReference.com, it actually has been for years.

Tom Curran: Patriots signing of Brown means they’re now a “Just win, baby” team
Brown a "Just win, baby' move for Pats

When did Curran come such a whiner?

Of F**cking course Pats are WIN NOW. Brady is 42 and there is a chance he could be gone next year and Belichick has been on record saying he doesn't want to be Marv Levy coaching in his 70s

Also for F**K SAKE it's not like the pass offense couldn't use Brown. All summer it was

If Gunner's the casualty, i feel bad for the kid.

"Hey gunner, we're gonna have to let you go... wait, hold on. Nevermind, welcome to the team."
(2 weeks later)
"Hey gunner, about what we said before... yeah, uh.. this is awkward."
I feel bad for the guy. I was really excited to see him mature.
...But it's AB, the guy we all drooled over during that draft.
..And here he is.

Now if it can only work out?

And the Patriots get a third after he signs a huge contract with another team after we're done with him.
Paraphrasing something i read on twitter, so you never know:

Bc itss Browns' 10 NFL season, the maximum the Pats can get is a 5th. They used G Alan Feneca as an example for this rule.

Still, pretty good.

I'm not saying this to be snarky. I really think Brown has CTE from the Burfict hits. I think he's off his rocker crazy at this point. I don't think there's anything medical that can be done for him but the additional hits can't help.

I hope he can behave for a year and help them win another ring but especially because can you imagine Steelers fans if he is a major cog on them winning the 7th and passing the Steelers? OMG their collective entitled mullet heads would all explode.
How would AB do at an interview at Google?

:p

It's still surreal to come to this forum and read this thread title. Go back to week 16 of last year and would you have thought this was in any way imaginable?? Just unbelievable and pretty dang exciting win or lose (worse case scenario - he acts up, cut him and you still have a SB caliber roster. best case or even middle case scenario- WOW!).

I'll be shocked if AB plays the entire season with the Pats without some kind of drama/meltdown.

However, even if he does, and even if he plays well, we don't have that much to worry about.

Remember, the only reason the Patriots beat the Chiefs last year was a penalty. Outside of that penalty, the Chiefs completely outplayed the Pats in the second half. And the Chiefs outplayed the Pats in their first meeting in New England last year. Remember, the Chiefs were one slightly over thrown pass to Hunt from going up on the Patriots in the first half of that game.

And all of that with a first year, 23 year old QB who didn't know the entire offense yet.

Brady's abilities are in decline, and he's without his favorite weapon.

It's just the Chiefs' time now; the Patriots time is almost over. That's why Brady wanted to speak to Mahomes after the AFCCG last year. He was beginning the process of passing the torch. It's why the Pats are taking this absurd gamble in picking AB; it's pure desperation.

Rome is falling.

Football Pats sign Antonio Brown - ChiefsPlanet

Chiefsplanet is in full meltdown mode right now. They seem to want a federal collusion investigation.

Those people are so delusional...one poster wrote:

"AB
Edelman
Gordon
Harry

That’s top 5. You could argue it’s as talented as our WR core"

What planet are Chiefs fans on thinking that their WR corps is nearly as good as ours? They have child beater Tyreek Hill, an unproven Mecole Hardiman, and a so-so Sammy Watkins. Ours WR unit blows theirs out of the water...

Bwaaaaa, the story is on the front page of the daily news as a sub-headline.
