Has he found an NFL home?

Remarkably, no.

If he is still unemployed at the end of the month I'd be seriously surprised

I'm seriously surprised now.

Owners are cheap and Allen won't be a bargain (for a punter). I'm thinking somebody will have to pee down their leg to make it a done deal

Believe it or not, $1.5M was near the bottom for veterans; almost everyone making less would have been on their rookie deals.

I don't see Allen as being in any sort of position of strength. And the way teams throw around money, particularly recently, I just don't get what's going on with him. I don't believe there has even been a rumor about him and another team. Strange...

All they ever see is Allen not out kicking the coverage so they probably think he sucks. Dumb front offices.

Believe it or not half the teams out there are paying their punters less than a million. It's easy for us as Pats fans to forget but there are more Mike Brown types owning teams than there are guys like Robert Kraft

Pats take care of their special teams and practice squad a bit more than most other teams. Keep the whole puzzle happy.

Simple Minds want to know.
Ryan, what you gonna do when things go wrong? What you gonna do when it all cracks up?

Regards,
Chris

This is the NFL. At least 20 teams will pee down their leg within the first month. You can't win in the NFL without paying attention to the whole roster; nevertheless, teams seem to ignore positions such as punter despite it having such an impact on field position.

Why are we surprised? When he was a free agent, it isn’t like teams were lining up to sign him.

Smart guy who has made some millions and who was great in the community.

Even if he's done in the NFL ... he'll be fine in his next chapters of life.

Where the heck have you been the past 25 years? This is the NFL in 2019, where winning on the field is secondary to what really matter$. It's only a sport to the fans, to everyone else it's a busine$$.

Oh I'm aware that the league is a business. Winning also seems to help the busine$$ and having a good roster across all units usually leads to winning.

If the NFL starts to trend down significantly compared to other leagues, I'll be curious if desperate teams who suddenly face bankruptcy will start paying attention to "trivial" things like punter, kicker, long snapper, etc.

He was cut with an injury settlement, so it's very possible that he's either still healing up or stuck waiting until after week 1.
