N’Keal Harry being put on IR

I'd like an answer to the question Judge!

If the Patriots are so terrible at drafting WRs...and they never work out. Why would they pin all their hopes on a rookie WR?

Why would it be necessary to transfer Harry off the base?

Find Chad Jackson.

Last I hear he was selling Amway.

Can't you say the same abt NE QBs? DBs? OL?

Is this a joke?

Bishop, Brisett, Cassell, Klingsbury, Mallet, O Connel, Davey. Jimmy has yet to prove that he is anything special.

I got some serious crap about the possibility of this and the inclusion of Gunner.

“Another candidate for worst idea of the year”

“You would have to be gaming a hell of a lot to disturb the career of your #1 pick, and basically ruin his rookie year.”

“You are going to purposely ****** the career of your #1 pick to keep a guy who will probably never contribute in an nfl game? ”

You are a slow one.

A lot of those guys are still cashing checks.

NFL won't stop giving them $. Hoyer just made 9MG after getting cut!!!!

You don't think that's anything special??

You look at it from a box score/casual pov. A lot of those guys have value that doesn't show up on paper.

You also ignored the DBs/OL.

We have 2 top 5 G at their respective position (L/R G) Very nice C in Andrews. Both Brown & Nate reset the tackle market. Cannon is a vg player.

We miss at DB but have hit big time Butler, JC etc.

I'll criticise Bill if I feel it's needed but the guy is a wizard. No one is consistently as good when it comes to coaching, evaluating & developing players/prospects.

*Edit*
Honestly can't think of a close 2nd when it comes to the big 3 (coaching, evaluating, developing).

I have put very few posters on ignore but seeing some of these responses from posters I respect to *no one* makes me glad I did.

It aint looking good.

The Chiefs are loaded at WR.

If we are talking strict WR who do they have after Hill? Don't give me Sammy Watkins. Same Sammy Watkins that hasn't had over 600 yards since 2015.

Josh Gordon who had played 10 games in 4 seasons and came to the Pats having to learn the system on the go put up 700 yards in like 8 games.

F**ng Demaryius Thomas who was in a bottom-5 passing offense for half the season last year ended up having a better year than Watkins

Ok so the Steelers have not won in 10 years because the pats drafted chad Jackson

Ok. Good talk

I hope this doesn't stunt his development too much

Why do you think it will stunt his development at all? It might delay his development, but a 6 week delay in a rookie year does not seem determinant to me - it might help. Edelman was injured - his development was not stunted.

Wished we had Drafted AJ Brown now.

Definite lost year for him pretty soon we'll be saying Harry who?? This was the least scenario I wanted not good for a young WR. I hope Harry doesn't become the next Kevin White.

Why can’t you just go away

It’s not so bad. He can spend 8 weeks studying and learning. Anything besides practicing. Come back in 8 weeks as reinforcement.

Obi is going to be a big contributor? Gunner? Calhoun?
You have to cut someone when Harry comes back anyway.
I just put more value on doing the best thing for the top young prospect you have over buying time for the last guy on the roster.

Would you be shocked if Gunner is active for special teams? It seemed his spot on the 53 was secured when Crossen was traded. One could make the argument that he will be activated and Meyers won't be. Would you be as quick to cut Meyers?

At least the position is in a decent spot with talent/depth. Losing Harry sucks, but like you said it might be nice to get him back halfway through when there’s another injury.

Reminder. Harry can practice after 6 weeks

Its not good. Not a blessing in disguise or anything. It sux.

Only brightside here is we're seemingly pretty deep w no other injuries. And our RB corp is also deep.
Harry could still be contributing to a SB run. Should be hungry & healthy right when end of Dec/beginning of Jan hits.

I can’t name one WR after Hill and Watkins.

McCoy was a nice pick up though. Makes sense with ties to Reid in Philly.
