Hoyer Cut

Why is the Hoyer vs. Stidham as QB#2 debate still ongoing? Obviously BB felt Stidham was ready to assume the position.

Because many people suspect that Hoyer release was temporary.

Don't worry, debate will die in 6 days.

At a minimum, BB, Nick and Josh were comfortable enough with:

1. Taking the risk of Hoyer signing with another team.

2. In the event of TB12 missing time, comfortable enough with Stidham manning the position.

I don't see #1 happening without #2.

Hoyer seems less likely to lose a game but I also think Stidham has more upside to win a game. Stidham's play would probably be more up and down but his ability to extend plays and even run for a 1st down on some of those 3rd and 7's may have been what gave BB the confidence to take the risk and cut Hoyer.

I keep on hearing that Harry is gonna be IR'd and Hoyer brought back. My response "what kind of weed are you smoking?"

Hoyer could be brought back, but it is unlikely.

Interesting that they didn't sign a QB to the practice squad. Looks like Stidham will be getting plenty of work now.........

I think they will. Perhaps Etling. I would think a WR on there too.

Someone might want to edit the title of this thread

Or create another thread

or create a poll to see if it was wrong to cut Hoyer

Is that how long it takes to heal a damaged ego?

No, it's how long until the gametime thread takes over the collective emotions and minds of Patsfans and Brady gets called old and washed up, BB is once again the worst GM ever, and this defense sucks because they gave up one 30 yard pass.

I would've kept Hoyer instead of the less-than-useless Matty LaCost...and if the Clots really wanted him that badly, then I would've told them to cough up a draft pick or FECK OFF.

Missed opportunity by Bill to recoup some of the capital expended on our backup OLmen.

I don’t love Lacosse but he has good size and can catch the ball. Hoyer was already the no. 3 QB so that’s a much bigger waste of a roster spot.

BB already recouped all of the draft capital when he made the Dawson and Crossen trades.
