Jonathan Taylor is my bet to be the first RB taken, but man do I love Swift from UGA, both gonna be good players (different styles)

Etienne I like as well, reminds me of Tre Mason who I also loved
Have to watch more Vaughn, heard great things

Dillon, Dobbins, Akers, Harris all worth a damn too...Expect Akers to shoot up over the course of the season

McFarlane and Blackshear are two names from that last tier I expect to shoot up as well

I feel this years draft at RB we would be looking at more of a receiver type back, as I don’t think we would be looking at your battering ram type of back like we have in Sony and Harris.

So not sure on that front who would we be looking at? Maybe as well ST value too.

Way too early but wouldn't expect NE to go after a RB too high in the draft it at all

God willing Michel and Harris stay healthy

Did the Clemson rb get dinged today at Syracuse?

Clemson offense came out like gang busters and then he appeared to get dinged and the Clemson offense went to sleep for a while before their offensive line wore down Syracuse.

An injury to the Clemson rb would shake up the mid to late first round rankings.

I'm not sure there is a more impressive RB than Cam Akers in CFB. What he is doing behind one of the worst OLs I have ever seen is amazing.
He is Dalvin Cook type good. I think there is a good chance he goes in like the 3rd round and becomes the best RB of this class. Freakish talent.

Definitely a Day 2 guy, but should be a steal

I feel like he's getting his due but kinda always knew he could really play?

That OL ended so many careers it's not even funny.

That whole team might be a good get in terms of overlooked talent.

yup due to OL WR and the RBs suffer big time.

Their last QB Francois was once deemed a Heisman candidate and had to transfer to "Hampton" because of that line

Long way from that National Title team that was absolutely loaded

He has one off field issue and is a serious one but Pooka Williams is electric! Not sure when he’s draft eligible? The other thing with RBs is are we going to be looking at them this year or is it more of a training camp kinda guy?

Kraft aint touching him, but I'll have to study his game more

I think we need to take a couple of RBs in this draft. Etienne and Dobbins. Get them both if we can. I think we need to transition to a run oriented team as we approach our transition at QB. If we can have a great running game, we can absorb any struggle/uncertainty/acclimation in the passing game, and continue to win with our defense. And we’ll be that much better when the new guy settles in at QB

Sorry, but this makes no sense. The Patriots have Michel, Harris, White, Burkead, and Bolden ALL under contract for next year. Why would they draft 2 more RBs?

To improve our running game? The Pats are in the bottom half of the NFL in rushing yards this year, our leading rusher ranks 17 in the NFL in total yards, which is decent I guess but not elite. Not even close to elite. Michel ran for 18 yards against the Ravens, 45 against the Texans, and 8 against the Chiefs. Not exactly getting it done is it? We have no run-pass balance to speak of, which makes us predictable. We can’t move the ball when the passing game goes awry, which is becoming more common with Brady’s advancing age, our MASH unit receiving corps with butterfingers, and breakdowns in protection. When’s the last time we had a guy get 100 on the ground? Has it even happened once this year? Look at the top teams in the league, the a Ravens, 49ers and Seahawks, they all can run the damn ball and gash you on the ground. Our run game is pedestrian by comparison. And our pass game isn’t that much to speak of either.

I’m talking about an overhaul. Cut the dead weight wherever they think it is and get better more talented backs. They’re out there. We’re gonna need it. 60-40 pass/run ain’t sustainable with these personnel, much less breaking in a new QB in the not so distant future, which is a complete unknown.

I think the underperforming run game is a result of a banged up/underachieving OL, no FB, no TEs worth a damn, and frankly inadequate play calling at times

The loss of Gronk, Devlin, Andrews, and a competent LT were major...also Mason looked good last week, but hasn't been playing at a level he's capable of

I like this deep backfield as is, might be the only position NE is certain with next year

If you want to improve the running game, then maybe you should focus on the root cause of their issues. And it's not the RBs. It's the O-line, FB and TE situation. You seem to be ignoring that the O-line is missing it's starting Center in Andrews, was without it's starting LT for 8 games, and that the RG and RT have been playing hurt all year. You also seem to be ignoring that they lost not one, but two FBs. On a team where they have a damn good one in Develin. And, you overlook that they lost 2 awesome blocking TEs in Gronk and Allen.

You need to do more than just look at stats to say where the team needs help. You need to understand how one position is affected by another.
