Andrew Luck Retires from NFL

Gronk retiring is a bigger story than this in my opinion. He does more to help his team than Luck ever has. Good luck for Luck and Colts can suck it.

Ok, even WORSE than I suspected. They said it in 2013 and quoted themselves this morning.

They are admitting they are nothing but carnival barkers. We all knew it, but now they are saying ‘This is how we roll, this is who we are’. Why would anyone listen to them?

.

If their words weren't repeated here I'd never know what they said.

I feel bad for Luck. The expectations on him coming in were huge. Replace the legend and the SUCK FOR LUCK campaign.
Then to boot his O Line was not very good. That and the play calling where he had to hold the ball too long was his ticket to daily ice baths.
The success of TB’s longevity has been getting the ball out fast and he does not scramble. Luck never had those options

Luck didn't have the same options as Brady because his brain wasn't as big.

Not me. Not by a long shot.
Imagine paying and sitting for a preseason game and getting a text from your friend that your 29 year old QB has informed the team that he is retiring. You will react in a human way. Your reaction may not be towards the player but the circumstance. It will be extremely hard to gather your thoughts right there and put things in proper perspective. It is different when you don't shell out your hard earned money for season tickets and just follows the team, but those who do and don't necessary make a lot, this will be painful and I can understand their reaction.

Will the junkie owner go after some of Luck’s signing bonus?
Depends on which famous rocker's guitar comes up for auction.

Must be nice to piss away daddy's money.

I stated pretty clearly that I also didn't think he was a bust, but if that's the high-water mark for a guy that was supposed to be so good you dropped Peyton Manning to get him then you're in disaster territory. I know they give out banners for that in Indy but it doesn't make it a real, legacy-defining accomplishment.
Fivehead's body was breaking down, it was time to move on for the Dolts.

Throughout Luck's career the common thread was him taking big hits due to a sh*tty offensive line.

Can't believe they have to roll with Brissette.

That's not exactly true. As a rookie he and his team over achieved to get to the playoff and they were one and done. They next year he got to the playoffs and they won a game. They year after they got to the playoffs and won 2 games. That is not a bad start for ANY QB, especially one coached by Chuck Pagano and some horrid defenses.

A bit of an aside, anyone wonder if Josh McDaniels got a sniff of this and it was even a small part of the reason he bolted Indy?

a Bit of an aside 2; I feel badly for Luck. While his team were jerks, he never was. But that being said, after talking about a "possible return for the 1st week", has any owner deserved his outcome more than Jim Irsay.

2012: Colts get knocked of playoffs in 24-9 loss (Ravens who won Super Bowl)

2013: Colts get knocked out of playoffs in 43-22 loss (vs Patriots)

2014: Colts get knocked out of playoffs in 45-7 loss (vs Patriots who won Super Bowl)

2018: Colts get knocked out of playoffs in 31-13 loss. (vs Chiefs)

Every time they made it to face one of the real contenders they proved they didn't belong there.

Btw, I think there were always rumors McDaniels was unsure about Luck's status. I doubt he knew he'd retire, but I think he was weary of walking into a situation with an injury prone QB

Maybe a spot for Hoyer? That would be cruel though.

Luck certainly didn't want to end up like the great Earl Campbell.......I don't blame him.

Never disliked Luck as a player. Colts are a cesspool though. Are they cursed or what? Gotta love the bad karma coming their way. Crying, distasteful fan base and ownership breathing in what they sow. I’m enjoying it to it’s fullest.

Not me. Not by a long shot.
They boo a bad half of football. If luck were the patriot QB and retired like this he would absolutely be hated.

feel bad for Luck as clearly the injuries took a mental toll on him.

but LOL at the Colts...the deflategate curse lives on

TEN ain’t winning sh*t with those QBs. Also, their LT is suspended for 4 games.
Ehh they’ll go 9-7 or 10-6 like they do every year.

I’m down on the Texans this year as well because they still have a putrid O-line. And the Jags could be anything this year honestly.

Eh, Gronk retiring seemed expected throughout the year. His body was breaking down and he wasnt exactly the same player he was previously. Still was able to come up with big plays when needed. but wasnt the threat he was previously.

Luck is a total surprise. He is 29years old and a quarterback and had a really solid year last year.

Makes what Brady is doing more impressive. Guy has outlasted peyton manning AND his replacement.

Holy crap. Didn't see that coming.

Maybe he's more injured than they let on.
I don't think he ever really fully recovered from that shoulder injury.

Wow. Good luck to Jacoby Brissett in Indy. The job is now his to lose.

Brady has given more than enough to the Patriots and fans. If he quit in the middle of a real game let alone a preseason one I'd give him the benefit of the doubt......and I guess you missed the video posted of him being booed and called out by name

Wow I almost feel bad for all of them Reich looked like someone shot his dog In front of him.
Frank Reich just went from the next Sean McVay genius to being fired by his crack head owner in a year, of course he's despondent.

Captain Andrew Luck makes one last ride.

That guy's meal ticket just died.

In the cut throat corporate world, rule number 1 is never interrupt a rival when he/she/they are so intent on proving their incompetence.
Carry on
