2015 Cardinals ahead of the 2014 Patriots (not even on the list)? LOL.

They beat the worse Seahawks version by a hair. Don't see them beating the 13 Seahawks.
Considering the flukey Kearse catch towards the end, and that stupid 30 second TD drive to close the half, 9 times out of 10, SuperBowl 49 wouldn't be that close.

2013 Seahawks vs 2014 Patriots probably would be.

Laughable premise (not repeating) as it undermines the entire validity.

Buuuuuuut, as other have outlined, it’s offseason crap to entertain & “shock”. As if : 13-3 Cards. Means nothing.

I'd rank them number 1 for all it's worth.

14-1 with Brady and only loss last second goal line to Seattle. Didn’t lose a game without Gronkowski. Good enough to beat a 13-3 (previous year team) in the road opener with their backup QB. Good enough to overcome a 28-3 deficit with 18 minutes left in SB, against a phenomenal team. The 2016 Pats are the best team of the decade, and if you add Gronkowski the ranking becomes a lot less close.

I'm about to make a top ten of the teams of the decade using key stats I think are important, so let's put it to the test.

Ok, that key criteria certainly helps explain the rationale for some of these picks.

Think about it, that eliminates 27% of the teams from consideration (many of them probably good teams).

With 9 seasons in consideration, that's 32 teams * 9 seasons = 288 teams.

But the ten selected teams each have 8 seasons that can't be considered, so that's 10*8= 80 teams that are ineligible.

80/288 = 27.777%, so over 1/4 of the teams are out of scope....so yes, there are going to be some eyebrows raised by who makes it in

Still doesn't explain the 10-6 Jaguars making it.

Honestly I think the whole "no repeats thing" was just there to keep from having to name the Patriots at least 3 times.

Probably should have just made a top 10 non-Patriots teams.

That’s true, but the Patriots can go 3-13 this season and still have the best decade Winning %in history. Additionally they are the only repeat winner this decade, and they have been in the last 8 AFCCG’s, and 5 Super Bowl’s, winning 3 of them. They didn’t win one game a few times, they owned the NFL.
Agreed. That’s one example of why I have big problems with the list.

Of course, someone said one of the rules of the list was that no team could appear more than once, which is total BS.

Ya, they probably put to much stock in their lasting impression of them almost dethroning the pats in the afc championship game at Gillette immediately after beating the Steelers on the road.

Only bc they didn’t have any repeats

Personality I would have put the 14 pats over the 16 pats but I understand why people would think differently

The 17 eagles being that high is a joke. I’m not sure they would even be on my list.....you know that selection was made just to get under the skin of Boston fans

The 2017 Eagles being that high certainly isn't a joke. Though it would be fair to put the 2016 Patriots above them ;)

And they certainly belong on any competent list of top 10 teams from the last decade.

13-3 (including Mulligan loss w17). 3rd in PF, 4th in PA.

Won SB with backup QB.

They have the ring, record, and stats.

How is that not a top 10 team?

And only 1 Pats team.

Here's there list

1. 2013 Seattle Seahawks
2. 2015 Carolina Panthers
3. 2017 Philadelphia Eagles
4. 2016 New England Patriots
5. 2013 Denver Broncos
6. 2015 Arizona Cardinals
7. 2012 San Francisco 49ers
8. 2011 Green Bay Packers
9. 2018 Kansas City Chiefs
10. 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars

I don't know where to start with this nonsense.

And I refuse to post a link to NFL.com because they've probably just done it for click bait.

Just terrible all around.
2011 Pats?

I get they’re low on the list, but cmon now. That secondary was historically bad.

I started off my post by tossing out the 2011 Packers

#1 Seed in the AFC, 13-3. Offense was loaded. Brady threw for over 5200 yards. They came within one catch of winning the Super Bowl - if Brady throws the ball over the correct shoulder to Welker. (It was Brady's fault.)

DBs included Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung, Kyle Arrington and the immortal Sterling Moore. Ras-I Dowling was the bust of the year, but I do not think one position group negates the greatness of that team. On defense they had Warren, Wilfork and a great season from Mark Anderson up front, Mayo, Ninkovich and Brandon Spikes' best season.

The mere fact that the Patriots had a punter named Zoltan Mesko puts them in the top ten teams of the decade in my book.

I agree, the 2011 Packers and 2011 Saints were clearly better teams than the 2011 Pats. so that's at least two teams from their own season that were clearly better

The 2011 Packers failed to win a playoff game. Clutch.

If you’re gonna mention the front 7, at least mention Andre Carter. Guy made he Pro Bowl that year.

Yeah. Carter and Anderson were big in 2011. We lost both to free agency, I think.

No, you're just a homer. That team was a juggernaut all season and beat a very good Patriots team fair and square with their backup QB.

You're right, I suppose I'm still bitter
