NBA Draft - Trades - Free Agents

I meant more the player C/PF type. Yea they have a ****load of cap space.

embiid is the only big guy they have under contract.....they there's simmons, and a couple of young guys...they could use capela at the price and he will be an easy guy to move for something else

Definitely would include Langford. If we can get Capela somehow without parting with Brown or Smart I'm all in. But I don't know if that's realistic.

you could get him for a draft pick

I think I am OK with Kemba Walker....

I think Walker and a mid-level exception big is the best route to take....

It is basically that or an expensive big and Rozier at PG. I like Rozier's D...and think he can handle the PG duties...and his salary would be cheap enough for Adams or Vucjeic....BUT he's a streaky shooter....not sure....I think I'll sleep better with Walker consistently dropping 20....

Even with Brad's system, this team is so devoid of talented bigs that getting the big would definitely be the way to go, IMO. The problem is finding a big worth a decent chunk of the money, because you won't find one worth all of it. And I'm not sure that Adams or Vucevic fit the bill. Walker's not worth what's being floated around either, for that matter, but he is at least the best player of the three.

BTW, why don't people think Walker is worth 4/140M?

I mean he's the same age as Durant (and Horford when we signed him) and Durant will miss a season......

I don't see him fitting there. If they need another big, they need a big that can play on the outside.

Adding Kemba and ridding yourself of Irving to me seems like a win. Chemistry has to account for something.

In other team news, Lakers now have the cap to add at 3rd max. Sounds like DLo may be joining up to make a big3.

How about we sign-n-trade Scary to Philthy, send Romeo to Houston, and receive Capela, Eric Gordon & a future unprotected 1st?

Would it shock anyone to see LA get in the kemba sweepstakes now that they’ve freed up the cap room?

43% from the field, including 36% from deep...and his shooting #s late in games are horrible.
Hes almost 50% from 2pt. Not terrible for a 6-1 player.

Kemba's issue he needs to figure out how to go left.

The problem is that so many teams have so much cap space this summer. The last time this happened was 2016, and that summer after a few truly talented players were snapped up teams started panicking and paying silly money to JAGS. That summer Ryan Anderson got $80M for 4 yrs $80M/4), Bismack Biyombo $72M/4, Tim Mozgov $64M / 4, Joakim Noah $72M/4, Kent Bazemore $70M/4 and Harrison Barnes $94M/4.

I think the same type of silly overpaying frenzy is likely to go on this summer with so many teams having cap space. It is arguable whether Walker will be worth the money in the fourth year (undersized guards don't always age well), but at least he is a real all-star (3rd team NBA). It is better to pay someone like him as opposed to grossly overpaying JAGS like happened in 2016, many teams spent the next 3 years trying to unload those contracts.

However, it isn't like this is the Warriors deciding whether the last shot should be taken by Durant, Curry, or Thompson, all great options. There was no other real option on the Hornets for late shots other than Walker, so he would be drawing most of the defensive attention.

The Celtics will have some real options for late shots, especially if Haywood returns to form in his second year after the injury and if Tatum gets over his sophomore slump.

I'm not ready to call what happened to Tatum in 2018/2019 a slump.

He clearly wasn't as efficient offensively or defensively but his rebounding, FT and passing improved a little.

IMO he became a bit too passive with the pull up jumpers. Seemed too indecisive at times. I think he is instinctually a player that wants to be "the guy". I'm not sure if he is a "the guy" player but having Cryrie rip him a new one every 10 minutes didn't help. I think he was in his head.

It's possible but I think it would be a bad move by the Lakers if that's what they are going for. Great you have three superstars. You'd also have next to no decent role players. Good luck...
