Don’t love it, but worth bringing him to camp. I bet he retires by the end of the off season.

This is good. We need a vet.

He should not be an ocho stinko.

Well they’ve signed a DT at least.

Interesting!! Worth a look imo

Things that make you go Hmmmm. I guess he's good camp fodder and/or a good tryout to see what's left in the tank...

If he's healthy and if the other guy is sober then with Jules it's great but too many ifs for me still need more at WR/TE.

Maybe a move TE?

The actual real deal will be quite lower id guess . still a hot candidate for the worst Pat deal this offseason.. makes a quite depressing WR hunt actually..

DT will join Joey Galloway, Tory Holt and Reggie Wayne in Pats lore.

What’s the guarantee $$$

I'm wary of the torn achilles, and he was bad last year even before that, but a lot of that can probably be attributed to the QB he was playing with. Depending on how much is guaranteed I like the signing. He's pretty much the only FA WR left who has any real chance at moving the needle, so if the guarantees are minimal then there's really no reason not to take a shot on him and see how well he can come back.

If we can get 800 yards and 6 TDs out of him I'll be plenty happy. He's not a WR1 anymore and his contract clearly reflects that, and based on that I expect to see more work done on the receiver front. Assuming the Pats and Gronk aren't already planning on a midseason reunion or something.

Could be a great move for Thomas, too. One year deal in a high-performing offense that desperately needs exactly what he offers, run by his former HC. If his goal is to get one more fairly big contract in his career, he has a better chance of getting 1200/8 and cashing in a year from now here than he probably did anywhere else. Just gotta stay healthy.

As long as Edelman's not pissed about the money, this is a good deal. Obviously, the concern is recovery from the injury, but they've now got at least a legitimate WR corps on paper.

Most of this will end up being via playtime incentives / roster bonuses. In other words if he reaches the max at 6m there is a good chance that he came back strong from his injury and made a difference (or everyone else got injured).

Curious to see what his guarantees are just so we know if you can essentially pencil in a slot on the roster for him no matter what happens until August.

All that being said this is the ideal time to sign him. He now has months to understand the offense, do some video sessions with Brady during camp until he is cleared and get comfortable around here.
