Guys, the Pats are going to get their mini-bye regardless. It just won’t be week 1. It’s not like the league was going to give us (or any team) 2 mini-byes just because you win the Super Bowl.

Week 1 mini bye is nice though because you avoid the short week.

99% of fans don’t give a **** about how old the Wackers or Bears are.

I like opening the season on Thursday because it's a free mini-bye without the short week after playing a game on Sunday.

Ok I didn’t realize the team that opens on TNF gets another thursday night game.

I’d rather be late to work on a Monday than a Friday I guess.

This is actually the second time the NFL has done to to us, the first being after our first Super Bowl victory.

Yeah, if the Rams had won, th NFL would be doing everything to showcase that team’s home field fans.

Packers-Bears seems like a good idea for the 100th anniversary. One of the very few good ideas to come out of NY.

You must be retired.
Thats what i was just going to post. Reitred or self employed works at home, maybe works 3-11. I'm retired and i still hate any night game that starts at 8:30.

Who cares when they get to open?

Me, I'm a 1:00pm Sunday guy, but championships have their costs, and the Pats play a TON of prime-time games.

And for the record, the defending World Series Champion Boston Red Sox play 11 games on the road before opening at home.
me too, sunday at one, just like parcells horse.

He would of written on Thursday if he knew proper English.

Is 'would of' instead of 'would have' some meta joke at this point in the thread?

I could read the rest of the thread to find out but I won't.

Have. Would HAVE played Thursday.

Tune is welcome on my lawn. The rest of you 99% stay the hell off of it.

Strap on the leather helmets, get out on the gridiron and win one for the Gipper! Go Bears!

Sunday night is perfect. Read the morning "papers," do some yard work, knock something off the honeydo list, get 40 miles on the bike, take a shower and a nap, fix something broken around the house, have dinner, watch the Pats. A perfect day.
