Should the Patriots showcase banners for AFC Championships?

I remember looking up at the ceiling of the old Boston Garden and seeing all of those Bruins "Division Champion" and "Conference Champion" banners and thinking, "I guess when you're trying to match the Celtics for the number of banners hung up there, you do what you gotta do".

I was very happy when they condensed all of those Division/Conference/Presidents banners down to 6 banners.

I like the idea of a single banner that lists the years of AFC Championships, located somewhere apart from the SB banners.

Also would like a running clock, like the debt clock in Times Square, for "Consecutive Days as AFC East Champions." Have it change at the start of the season, and the end of each home game. Right now, it would be somewhere around 3,000.

And yeah, @Clonamery, the unstated subtitle is "Arrogant Pricks" which is just fine with me. Enjoy your time in our stadium, Bills/Jetes/'Fins fans.

A flag park would suffice along with one smaller banner that lists them all together but definitely in a distinctly separate spot away from the SB banners.

But we're gonna need a bigger boat.

There is zero room at Gillette for non-super bowl banners

I can’t agree with this claim. As a STH,
experiencing hard fought and exciting games during these seasons, I feel that the Champions of the AFC should be acknowledged and applauded. JMO.

My very personal opinion is that conference championships should be celebrated. However, I understand that for those who have become fans in the Brady era, conference championships are entitlements, and not winning the Super Bowl is a failure not to be celebrated.

Perhaps, my very personal opinion derives from being remembering the team playing for the first draft pick and picking high in the draft.

Yeah, but like I was saying, where are you PHYSICALLY going to put those AFC banners?

Maybe not in the stadium itself, but perhaps in the entrance area near the pro shop ?

They should hang them in the bathrooms.

Individual stalls can be adorned with division championship banners.

Here's an idea: display the AFC champion banners as flags inside around the stadium's perimeter or at an entrance, each with its own pole. That way conference titles can be duly acknowledged as a special achievement (which they are) but not detract from the Super Bowl banners.

would you add them for years we also won the SB?

No. It’s like the AFC Championship ring the players get it they don’t win the SB. They don’t get both.

Yea, the AFC Champion banner also says "lost super bowl" every time it's true.

A big trophy case with all of the Lamar Hunt trophies at the Pats hall of fame should suffice.
Funny. Done. Its already there.

And no, the 16-0 banner was not a good idea.

I felt the same way but then someone won me over by providing this perspective.......

"Every year a one team gets to hang a championship banner, but only once has a team ever had the opportunity to raise a 16-0 banner."

I am all for celebrating each accomplishment.

I think the cement pillars on the outside of where the banners are now would be a good spot to add them. On one side I would add all the AFC titles to one banner with room to add more. On the other side I would create a banner for our HoF players making it a sort of ring of honor.

The only real hesitation I have is my deep Celtic fandom and the tradition of "WORLD CHAMPIONS" hanging from the rafter.

I loath the Bruins "Division titles" banners but I do feel like having 11 SB Appearances is an awesome accomplishment.

EDIT: 11 appearances in just 33 years too. (SB 20 to SB 53) I mean the Pats have made an average of one out of 3 Super Bowls over 30 years. That is impressive.
