I don't know, I've come around on Allen as a great blocker, almost an extra lineman out there, with the ability to catch an occasional pass. The Pats really value that kind of guy.

Yeah, maybe he has to take some kind of pay cut, but I think the Pats would prefer to keep him no matter what happens with Gronk and Bennett.

Probably not. I could see them bring Marty in on a low-commitment contract though, and see if he earn a spot over Allen, or to fill out the roster so you don't have to reach for a TE in the draft if nobody you love falls to where they pick. But as a guy you're counting on? I don't see it.

Bennett even when hurt was no slouch at Blocking and he gives you a target in the passing game. When Allen is in there you know what's coming.

This looks like Bennett just making fun of Witten coming back. Marty is not un-retiring and it also means nothing in terms of Gronk.

I get that some people might confused but if you look at it through the prism of Witten the whole thing just looks like a joke. The thing that Marty has been known for.
